I looked at the mirror, at my dress, and smiled. I wore a lace sleeve cocktail dress my mum bought for me the other day. My mum made me wear white heels and I put on the necklace my dad gave me before he died. My hair was curled and my mum did my make up since I refused. I grabbed my black purse and put my phone inside.
"Are you ready yet Lillian!?" my mum shouted from downstairs.
"Yes mum!" I shouted back.
I walked downstairs and we both smiled at each other. Mum locked the door behind her and we hopped into her car. My mum drove off to Gavin's house, sorry I mean mansion. Luckily, it didn't take long with the music playing. My mum parked in front of Gavin's house and we got out of the car. We walked towards the door and my mum knocked on the door. Melissa opened the door and smiled at us.
"Sarah! Lillian! You came!" Melissa exclaimed, excitedly.
"It's nice to see you too Melissa" my mum said as we walked inside. Ben ran over to me and hugged my waist. I huffed and shook him off but then Melissa pulled him off.
"I'm so sorry about him" Melissa said, apologestically and I smiled.
"It's ok Melissa" I said and Melissa smiled.
"Oh Lillian, I almost forgot, Gavin's in the kitchen if you want to go see him" Melissa said, pointing over at the kitchen and I smiled.
"Thank you Melissa" I said before walking towards the kitchen. I saw Gavin pouring the drinks into the glass cups that were on two sets of trays. I smiled and walked over to him.
"Hey Gavin, having fun?" I asked and Gavin fake laughed.
"Nice one Lillian, really" Gavin said, sarcastically and I chuckled. I grabbed one of the wine bottles that Gavin had and started pouring it in the other tray of glass cups. "You don't need to help ya know?" Gavin said.
"Eh, I want to" I shrugged.
"Thanks" Gavin smiled.
"No problemo" I said, smiling back. Once we were done, we each held a tray.
"Now lets go serve some rich snobs" Gavin said and I laughed.
"You know you're one of those 'rich snobs'?" I said.
"Yeah but I don't spend all of my money on shit like my parents" Gavin said.
"True" I shrugged.
"Ok, let's go little one" Gavin said and I glared at him.
"Don't call me that" I said, sternly but Gavin just smirked.
"Fine" Gavin said, walking out of the kitchen. "Little one" I heard him say and I groaned in frustration.
I quickly walked out of the kitchen and walked around, offering wine to whoever wanted it. A few people gave me dirty looks but I gave them the finger behind my back. Why do most rich people think they're better then us? Luckily, Gavin isn't one of them or else I wouldn't be his friend in the first place. Once the tray was empty, I walked back into the kitchen where I saw Gavin, sitting on the kitchen counter and drinking a can of fanta.
I rolled my eyes and put the tray down on the table. I walked over to him and sat next to him even though I had to make sure my dress didn't rise up. Gavin gave me the can I took a small sip before handing it right back. We listened to the song from outside as everyone danced and cheered since there was a stange and a DJ outside plus they brought in a band to sing so yeah.
"You alright Gavin?" I asked.
"Yeah" Gavin lied. I raised one eyebrow and Gavin sighed in defeat. "Fine, I feel uncomfortable" Gavin said.
