Chapter 7

The heavy scent of Zero's blood awoke me. Springing up from bed and grabbing my weapon I hastily followed were the scent lead....Kaname's room. Disregarding the trouble that it may cause I kicked the doors open just in time it seemed. Zero pulled away from Kaname's grip, eyes returning to their original color.

They watched Rin's figure as she approached them both slowly after closing the doors.

"Rin, how lovely for you to visit" Kaname's voice held an underlying edge, face remaining composed, yet his eyes showed nothing but annoyance. 'Let go of him' her eye turned crimson as she glared at him. 'You are desperate to include him in your game aren't you, how low have you fallen' she mocked.

Cracks appeared on the windows as Kaname's wine-red eyes turned crimson, much like hers. "This isn't up for discussion; he will drink my blood just as he needs to" setting a hand on her hip Rin regarded the Pureblood with an icy stare. 'You're wrong, Zero will never fall to a Level E. You can smell it can't you' her form blurred and disappeared from her spot.

Turning to her in surprise Zero watched her swipe off some of the blood from his wound. 'My mother's blood is flowing in him. He has drank the blood of his master and as such will be considered a Level D or C vampire' she licked the blood off her finger.

 A warmth spread through him, and unnamed pleasure from seeing her do so. Kaname's eyes grew colder at the view. "Rin" he warned but she ignored him and crouched down to Zero's level and inspected his wound. 'Go and rest, the wound will be healed by tomorrow, avoid the other day-class students your vampire will be seeking out blood to heal faster that's all there is to your hunger' she patted his head but stopped and pulled back as she realized her action. 'Go' her eyes glowed red for a moment and his body moved on its own.

Kaname slammed me against the already broken wall after Zero jumped out, his cold hands gripping my shoulders. "Rin I've been too kind to you and for you to rebel against me in such manner-"his face approached her neck. Nose burrowing in her hair as he took in her scent greedily. "I will not stand for it" eyes growing wide as his fangs pierced her skin, she struggled against him. 'Stop...Kaname' form growing weaker quickly as the fatigue from days prior rushed to her had her slumping against the wall. No more fight left in her she let him keep drinking her blood as her vision grew unfocused, the images mixing together as dark spots began creeping into her view.

He was ripped off her, her body slid down the wall. 

Through hazy eyes I could see the form of a man, all I could make out was their black coat as it flowed behind them as they moved. My ears caught the sound of a familiar bell before I caved into the darkness.

"You are late, I've already punished her" Kaname taunted him as he kept Rin's form shielded from his eyes. I will not let him see her in such a weak state, Dammit...I am sorry Shizuka he was able to hurt her and I wasn't here to keep her safe, please forgive me. 

The blade cut through the air and headed towards Kaname at high speed. Quickly moving his body out of the way he went to turn back to the two but was met with an empty space. "Distracting me to get Rin away from here...you may prove to be more troublesome than I thought" touching his lips he sighed in almost ecstatic manner. "Zero may have had the pleasure of her 'drinking' his blood but I believe that I've won...at least for now"

I set her body down gently and pulled the covers up. "I'm so sorry...I failed and you've been-"clenching his hands tightly he grinded his teeth together and scolded himself. "I shouldn't have left, Shizuka asked me to take care of you...her precious gem and I can't even do that" raising his hand to strike himself another one stopped it. Eyes darting down and following the arm, he met her eye. "I'm fine, all the fatigue accumulated, and I grew weak to quickly...I guess my father was right, I need rest" her hand released his and she cuddled deeper into the blankets a happy sigh leaving her lips. "Welcome back, Ichiru" calming down I smiled "I'm back"

Eyes turned taunting as he smirked down at her "Honestly you can't do anything without me, man I have a child to take care off. Mighty Vampire, pfft what a joke" her brow twitched at his words. "Still will you be okay?" his hand brushed her hair, exposing the injury. His fingers prodded the marks earning a quiet groan of discomfort "They aren't deep, should heal overnight still if you want I can-" "No it's fine" gazing down in slight anger he remained quiet "I also want you to remain human, a vampire is too boring to have as a friend. We are fleeting creatures unlike humans we are quite cold and distant. I enjoy your warm presence it's refreshing" smiling softly at him she grasped his hand and tugged him in. "Let's rest, tomorrow is a big day for you" huffing haughtily at her and turning his face away he asked in a teasing manner "Isn't this improper" "No one dares to enter my room, beside by morning you'll be gone and I'm still weak I need you to take care of me and fend of the lurking monsters" shock filled him as he gazed down at her, lavender eyes open wide and mouth agape. "Y-You want me...to take care of you, but I.." hugging him closer as she sought out more his warmth she groggily answered. "You are my protector, believe it or not I wouldn't want anyone else*yawn*, goodnight Ichiru" hugging her back and closing his eyes he smiled. "Goodnight Rin"

~ The feels, sorry for the cheesy chapter but I just typed it up out of my love for Ichiru. Hope my chapters haven't disappointed.
