Xavier's P.O.V

"She's a witch." Maria states.

"She's a what?" I ask shocked.

"You heard me she's a witch. She isn't supposed to get her powers until she's 18. Most likely you marking her made her powers come to focus." She says glaring at me.

"So it's my fault that my mate is a witch?" I ask still shocked from finding out this way.

"Ye-" Maria starts but Jace covers her mouth. She glares and bites his hand.

"Ouch!" He yells.

Just then there is a shuffle on the bed. We all stiffen at look at Lillian. She's still asleep she just rolled over. I breathe a sigh of relief. I don't know if when she wakes up she'll want to kill me or cause me pain was the way she put it.

"It's not his fault, Maria. He didn't know and you never told him." Jace says cradling his hand.

"Well......Ugh I guess you're right. I'm sorry, Xavier. I should not have blamed you for this inconvenience." She says in a sickeningly sweet voice as if she has been rehearsing to be nice.

"Whatever. Why haven't you told her? Or me for that matter?" I huff in annoyance.

"Well as it so happens your almighty alpha, we are not allowed to tell her until the day before her 18th birthday. If we do not follow these rules she could easily turn dangerous. Her mom is one the most powerful witch there has been. Her dad was also one but not as powerful." Maria explains in that sarcastic voice.

"Alright why didn't all the power go to her brother?" I'm still annoyed that she never told me but I'm intrigued by my mates background.

"Her brother took after both the parents. He looks like both his mom and dad and got some power but he takes more after his dad so he got the power that passed down the bloodline from his dad and a little from his mom but not a lot. Lillian on the other hand is the spitting image of her mother and took all of her power. I didn't know that this would happen when you have a werewolf mate." She says everything and whispers the last part almost talking to herself.

"How do you know so much about her background? You're not her sister you're just her best friend." I said skeptical.

"Well I'm not a witch if you asking. Well not technically. I have some witch blood but not enough to abide to the rules about me knowing before I'm 18. It's true I get my powers when I'm 18 but it's not a lot of power. Plus since Lillian's mom is really powerful she had things arranged so that I'm allowed to know about it." She says truthfully.

"But that would make you dangerous." I say taking a step away from her.

She starts laughing uncontrollably. "Oh I'm not dangerous. Her mom had another witch ask one of the elders to see what would be my future if she told me. My future was fine. But to take precaution they did a spell on me to make sure I wouldn't be dangerous. So I'm fine."

"Oh.....good......I don't want you to be dangerous. But about Lillian she'll probably remember and if not I can't keep that big of a secret. And she already has her powers." I say concerned for my beautiful mate.

"Well I'll have to tell her mom and ask the elders. I'll be back I'll call them. And don't think I'm not telling her that you guys kidnapped us." She says glaring at us.
