May those who carry your blood always be there when the world needs them.
- Meridia to Sam.Now you're probably asking. Why are almost all of them involved in something greater or are more than simple adventurers?
It goes back to Meridia helping Samantha during the closing end of the Planemeld event. Meridia saw in Samantha the inner strength to be something more than what she was. That's why the gods chose her to be the Vestige and why despite everything she kept moving forward.
Even after the Planemeld, she continued to help in any way she can. Meridia saw this and realized once Sam died this hero would no longer exist. So she devised a plan. She would bless Sam as she was fused with her light and would make sure as long as the bloodline was continued a new Hero or Heroine would sprout to save the world or protect people when they are needed.
This "blessing" is often viewed as a curse to many in the Bloodline. William in particular hates his family's blood.
