Have you ever wondered at one point how much can we hurt someone we care about without our consent?I was the reason why Mariano get his hopes high for nothing and now I was planning on dropping the bomb that may blow up everything that is joining us or it may ease the awkwardness and the tension in our relationship but either way the truth will break his heart and it's killing me.
He was sitting in front of me,dark bags under his eyes like he haven't slept in days,colors drained from his face and his hair was jacked up from threading his fingers through it several times.
I inched myself slightly closer to him and took his hands in mine,running slowly and affectionally my thumb over his soft but calloused ones.
"Mariano I know this will affect you so much but you need to know that I only see you as a friend" I said in a slow manner,affraid to break him more than he is right now.
I gave his hand a sqeeze which he returned before I continued"I've known you for months but you somehow found your way through my heart and carved a special place in there.I always treated you like a brother,a friend that stood next to me and I don't want to change what we have."I cast my eyes down and looked at our joined hands, sighing sadly.Out of no where I felt two fingers under my chin,forcing gently my head up to meet his eyes and I took a short glance at him before looking back down. I can't look at him,I caused this pain and sadness in his eyes.This is all my fault.As I moved my stare away from his heartsick eyes,a tear ran down my face.
"I'm not the right one for you Mar.You deserve so much better and believe me that one day you will meet the one that was made for you.You will love her with no limits,you would rather die than lose her and you will get a feeling that you can't explain in words.With just a touch of a finger,a grasp of a hand or even a look in her eyes you will feel a force of attraction that draws you closer to her"A warm hand brushed over my damp cheek and swiped a stray tear that had rolled from my eyes.
"So now I'm stuck in the friend zone?"I smiled,watching as the corner of his lips pulled up into a smirk.
I nodded my head in confirmation and kissed his cheek "I know your feelings for me will slide by the time when all the girls gonna run after you like angry gran run.Damn boy you're smoking hot and I'm hundred percent sure that girls are dying to be with you"
Mariano gasped and looked around faking worried"If Mason hears you he will burry me six feet under so you better shut that pretty mouth of yours because I'm not planning my death any time soon"
I looked at him to see if he was serious and the look in his eyes told me that part of him was.I cracked up with laughter at his reaction when he saw Cole and Sean standing outside and he almost passed out.
My laughter died down when a thought hit me and I clasped my hands to show my excitement and that caught Mariano's attention.As if he read my mind his eyes sparkled and his mouth gaped open and at the same time we voiced out loud our thoughts "To the park"
