Numbness consumed every cell in my body, helpness throbbed in my veins at the thought of her covered with blood.Fear it's like nothing I've ever experienced before, this new feeling dissolved into every fibre in my bones and swarmed in my cells.
Her touch, her eyes, her smile, her voice entangle me completely. She's all my existence and I can't imagine my life without her. There wouldn't be a place to belong.Without her I'm the old Mason King that strike fear into every living breath on earth or even in hell and can make their flesh crawl under their bones. It's been four days since I last saw her warm brown eyes or heard the echo of her laugh.Everything around me is dull and lifeless.I miss the lingering ghosts of her lips on mine and the feeling of her sweet embrace.
I thought that I was able to handle the threats that will come along with my love for her but I was so damn wrong. The beeping of the heart monitor is the only thing keeping me sane at this moment.
Agonizing seconds passed by,with her condition still the same.No movements nor a peeling of an eyelid.I was pacing back and forth my room, glancing at her every few seconds to reassure my pounding heart that she's still breathing.I walk towards her and took her tender and frail hands in my rough ones leading them to my lips.I closed tightly my eyes,
breathing in her scent that never ceased to lull me."Bri"I choke out, holding her hand tightly "If you can hear me please open your eyes"
I brushed my thumb softly over her tight lips as a tear slid down my face at the sight before me crippled me slowly. She was laying on our bed with her hair sprawled all over the sheets, her face was pale and drawn, she seemed almost lifeless if it wasn't from the steady beep of the heart rate monitor.I moved a wisp of her hair out of her face and leaned closer to give her a light kiss on her forehead when the door of the bedroom cracked open and no other than Dr.Harris the family's consultant made her way in.
I called her when Abrielle got shot and she was here in my mansion in a split.I gave her a room on the same exact floor in case anything happened with my little angel so she could be near her and control the situation.
She was standing in the doorway, her jet black hair was twisted into a neat bun and her face was morphed in a usual piteous smile that I got used to.She was holding in her hands her small yellow notebook and a serum in the other, her stethoscope filling one pocket of her white lab coat. She gave a slight nod before going to check on Abrielle.
"How is she doing?"I asked her when she was checking the serum and she immediately turned her attention to me.
"She's fine Mr King she will be awake soon but she needs to be careful since the bullet striked her humerus bone she won't be able to move her shoulder for a while as for the pain I prescribed her some medication that can make her sleepy"She handed me the paper on which she prescribed the tablets Abrielle should take daily until she heals.
"She will be fine son" She gave me a reassuring smile, that created wrinkles around her eyes and small grooves in her cheeks.
She exited the room since she was no longer needed, closing the door behind her with a small click and leaving me all alone with my little angel. Our intertwined fingers held the deepest memories that ripples in my mind.Moments of another time and place, cherry blossom in her hair and chirping birds flying in the air, where everything was more like a dream than a reality.
