She opened her eyes, broken light dancing through the spaces in the curtains. Her temporary apartment in Washington DC was so she could watch over Steve while he was working with Fury. And also, she was stationed with Project Insight, so she had to do that too.

Cassandra groaned, and rolled off the bed. She stood on her feet, stretching her arms and legs. She lazily stumbled to the bathroom, brushing her teeth, and combing out her hair. She pulled herself into a mission suit, struggling with pulling the whole thing up without tearing her skin.

"Time for breakfast Cassandra. Put the bread in the toaster Cassandra. Get the peanut butter out of the fridge Cassandra," she spoke to herself.

After the whole New York fiasco, she had been diagnosed with anxiety, amongst other things. One of the symptoms of anxiety happened to be, loosing concentration easily. This meant, sometimes she'd be focused on feeding herself, but wouldn't because she'd loose focus, and move on to a different task. Natasha forced her to take group therapy, which included Natasha, herself, and the occasional Steve.

"Drink your coffee Cassandra. Eat your toast Cassandra."

The toaster popped, making her jump and draw her gun at the same time. She closed her eyes, sighing while shoving her gun into its place. Unexpected noises were not her favorite thing in the world.

She shoved the bread in her mouth, holding it like a dog holds a chew toy, and slipped a leather jacket over her arms, walking outside.

"Keys," she said patting her pockets.

She rushed back to her apartment, snatched her keys from the coffee table, and ran to her car. She drove off, heading towards the Triskelion, while eating her toast at the same time.

She pulled into the parking garage, making sure her car was locked. She approached the elavator, letting the security system do its thing.

"Name."
"Barnes, Cassandra. Level Seven."
"Access granted."

The doors opened, and Cassandra stepped inside. The elavator doors slid open again, letting in a familiar red head. She smiled, and nodded.

"Nat."
"Cass."
"Did you remember to eat today?"
"Yes, there are enough crumbs in my car to prove it."
"Good."

A moment of silence fell between the two women, before Cassandra spoke again.

"Ya know, they used to play music."
"It wasn't very good music right?" Natasha asked, looking up.
"No. But it gave you something to listen to besides silence."
"Sometimes silence is the best thing you can listen to."
"That was deep Romanoff. Have you been watching those old period TV shows again?"
"Yes. And I belive in my choice fully."
"That's lovely."
