2015

Cassandra laid on her back, arms and legs out like a starfish, watching the rotation of the ceiling fan. Tony built an Avengers Compound, which New S.H.I.E.L.D used to train recruits at times. Outside in the yard was a grave for Pietro, her window right over it. She saw Wanda kneeling in front of it, maybe talking to it. She felt bad for the poor girl. Losing a sibling is like losing a limb.

Boxes were shoved into corners, Cassandra making a mental note to set up her room fully sometime this week. Sitting up, she pulled a box towards herself, pulling a picture out. The framed photo of the team at a pizza restaurant all enjoying their food. She sighed, and stood up, setting it on her desk.

She slipped her jacket over her shoulders, and stood up. Passing  Tony, Steve, and Thor in the hallway, she answered their question.

"Elavator's not worthy," she said, walking past them.

Opening a pair of doors, she found Natasha staring at the wall, her  chin tucked to her chest.

"Did you see the video of little Nate?"
"Traitor," she grumbled.

Cassandra smiled, and crossed her arms. Natasha was shaken after the Bruce conundrum, he'd flown the quinjet to kill Ultron and no word had been received from him yet. Cassandra had never seen the woman so, emotional, even after Wanda was in her head.

"Ya know, you guys could just keep staring at that wall."

Steve was behind them, a big sassy smile on his face. Cassandra and Natasha spun around, rolling their eyes and sighing at the same time.

"Are you guys possessed?"
"Maybe," they said.
"Stop it."

Cassandra smiled and walked forward to Steve.

"Let's go train the team."

Cassandra, Natasha, and Steve opened the doors, watching as Wanda flew down, a confident energy about her. Sam walked out, wings and all, along with Vision, floating through the door. Cassandra stood next to Steve, arms crossed, legs the width of her shoulders, and an eyebrow raised, trying to read the new recruits.

"Avengers," Steve said. "Assemble."
