Today's the first day of school and I'm excited! I'm going to Hogwarts, the school where my parents went when they were students. My mother, Mc, is a very well known curse-breaker who is famously known for saving Hogwarts from the Cursed Vaults and defeating the mysterous group, "R", which is also known as "The Cabal", was a group of Dark Wizards and Witches involved in the search for the Cursed Vaults. They have been active since at least the 1970s and in the 1980s wrote letters directed to my mother and Patricia Rakepick while the former was attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As my parents drop me off, I grab my luggage and ran to find where Platform 9 ¾ were with my dog, Lasair, which meant flame in some kind of language. "Be careful!" my mom yelled while my mother waved Goodbye.
"Bye, I'll write plenty of letters to you guys about my experiences at Hogwarts!!!" I hollered. As I ran through the wall and into the platform, I see a random toad hopping somewhere. I went after it and right after I caught it, I heard a voice very faintly from a distance that said "Gran, I've lost my toad again." I turned around and faced the crowd, trying to figure out who's the owner of the toad but failed. As I waited for the train while holding onto the toad gently, I noticed a boy with jet black hair and green eyes with glasses who were talking with one of the Weasley's. I walked up to Mr and Mrs.Weasley and said "Hi, Mr and Mrs.Weasley." "Hello, Rowan." they said cheerfully. I turned to the Wealey siblings and waved "Hey, George and Fred."
I high-fived them before saying hi to Ron and Ginny. The boy asked "Who is she?" "Rowan, Harry. Harry, Rowan. Rowan, this is Harry Potter and Harry, this is Rowan Haywood." Ron introduced me and Harry to each other and we begin talking. "So your the famous Harry Potter, right? You saved the world from Voldemort when your a baby and then you were sent off to your relatives(who by the way, sucks). My parents are famous for being a world-class Pioneer and Curse-Breaker, so I'm famous too. I hope we can be friends." He smiled awkwardly while saying "Of course." before we shook hands."Oh, and please meet my dog, Lasair. You can pet him if you want." While Harry was petting Lasair, the train came to view and we waited until it stopped before going inside. I waited in line with Weasley's and Harry a bit in front of me and went inside.
As I walked inside, I saw a girl with light-dirty blonde hair with pale silvery eyes that matched her hair colors sitting by herself. "Hey, can I sit here?" "Sure." she said in a dream like state. "What's your name?" I asked. "My name is Luna Lovegood." "Hmmm. What an interesting girl." As I sat down in the seat opposite of hers, I introduced me and my dog to her. She pets him before talking about Blibbering Humdinger and Crumple-Horned Snorkack, which I don't think exists, but hey, you can never know until you find one. I start asking about them and when seeing her so invested in the topic, it kinda made my heart skip a beat.
As a trolley came, I grabbed a bag of Knuts, Sickles, and Galleons and asked Luna if she wanted anything. "Anything's fine." she answered in the same dream-like voice before going back to reading "The Quibbler" that her father wrote. "Um, may I buy 2 of everything you have?" She nodded and begun distributing the snacks into the table and paid her before she left. "Luna?" She raised her head before asking "Yes?" "If you want anything, just take it." I begun munching on a chocolate frog before I chilled in my seat.....
"Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville has lost one." a girl with brown hair asked. "Oh! You're talking about this little guy?" I took the toad out of my pocket and gave it to her. "By the way, my name is Hermione Granger. You are?" "The name's Rowan Haywood." I shook hands with her before she says "Your the daughter of Penny Haywood, the world's best pioneer and Mc, who's done many feats and is recognized by everyone in the Wizarding World?" "Yup, that's me." "What's your name?" Hermione asked Luna while she was reading the article upside down. "My name's Luna, Luna Lovegood." "Nice to meet you."
We talked for a bit before she left to return the bo-Neville's toad to him and after a few minutes, I saw her sitting with Ron and Harry. I can hear her saying "Honestly, am I the only person who's ever bothered to read Hogwarts, A History?" "Lasair, here." I pour some dog food onto my hands before feeding him and giving him some water. I was bored, so I stood up and sat with Luna and we started to talk about many creatures and before I knew it, Luna fell asleep on my shoulder. I just sat there, not moving, afraid that I would wake her up. When the train stops, I gently shook her awake. "Hm, are we already there?'" she says sleepily before standing up. I put the candies that haven't been eaten yet into a bag before getting out of the train.
"Firs' years! Firs' years over here! All right there, Harry?" I knew that I head the voice somewhere and when I turned around, I saw my half-giant friend, Hagrid. "Hey, Hagrid." "Oh, 'ello Rowan and 'ello to you too, Lasair." Hagrid said as he pets him before feeding him some jerky. He then went onto the boat and I saw Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville getting in the boat before sailing off to Hogwarts. I looked around and stood beside Luna. I looked around and then saw Draco Malfoy coming in my way. "You're Rowan Haywood, right? Why are you hanging out with a lowlife girl like Loony Lovegood?" I gave him my middle finger before telling him "How about you leave Luna and I alone, huh, Malfoy." His goons then tried to come at me before Draco stopped them.
"My father's going to hear this!" He huffed before leaving with his goons while I was annoyed, but then I heard someone laughing beside me and as I turned around, the source of laughter was from Luna! This is the first time she's ever laughed out loud and not just smiling! "Thanks for standing up for me. No one's ever done that for me." I smiled and said "It's alright. If anyone else bullies you, find me and I'll duel them." before Hagrid came back and it was our turn to get in. Two other kids sat on the boat too but I didn't pay attention to them and instead just looked at the view before I saw a giant castle-like building in front of us. "Welcome to Hogwarts!" When we arrived, I immediately climbed out and stared at Hogwarts. "Wow! It was way bigger than I've ever seen!" I exclaimed while running around like a three year old kid.
As me and the others settled down, Hagrid raised a gigantic fist and knocked three times on the castle door.
