Today's Hermione's birthday and it's 8:30 right now and I've just taken a shower, wearing a white collar shirt that was fairly expensive and a fancy black trouser that was especially tailored for me. I was hiding a small present behind my back while doing the final touches to the party. I convinced almost everyone(even Ron) to celebrate her birthday since she's been every hardworking even if she's sometimes annoying. All of my clothes were male clothes because female clothes(especially dresses) are uncomfortable(in my opinion). Since it's one of my best friend's birthday, I have to at least be presentable when it's her birthday. Edith lured Hermione out of the common room and was in the library, "studying". This all started a week ago....

"Hermione, when's your birthday?" I asked, curious.
"September 19, 1979. Why?"
"Just bored." I answered.
"By the way, Edith's birthday is May 5, 1980 while mine is November 18, 1979."
"So I'm older than you." Hermione said.
"Yeah, but only by 2 months and Edith is the youngest."

It was next morning right now and I wrote a letter to my parents about buying my friend a present since I couldn't leave sch-Wait! The Weasley twins, they know almost every hidden passage in Hogwarts. I immediately went to find them and after a few minutes, I finally found them.

"Hey, Rowan."

''Hi."

"Congrats on becoming a Chaser."

"Thanks, George."

we kept chatting for a few minutes before I asked

"Hey, do you guys know a secret passage to Diagon Alley?"

Both of them raised their eyebrows.

"Why?"
"It's becasuse I'm buying a present for Hermione."
"The know-it-all?"
"Yeah, because her birthday is soon."
"Ooooo~ Someone has a crush~" Fred and George both teased me.
"No, I don't even have a crush anyone. Besides, I'm only 10 years old, so it's going to be weird if I actually fall in love with someone."
"Fine~ Here, this is our early birthday gift to you, Rowan."

George handed me a piece of parchment paper that was blank.

"Ha Ha. Very funny."

"No we're serious this time." George insists.

"Look, I'll show you." Fred tapped the old parchment with his wand before saying

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."

Ink appeared on the old parchment and soon enough, it looked like a map.

"This, is the Marauder's Map," Fred presented the so called Marauder's Map before George explained.

"The Marauder's Map is a magical parchment showing Hogwarts castle and grounds in its entirety, including seven secret passages into the castle. These passages are unknown to most people, though Filch apparently knows four."

"To hide the contents of the map so the parchment appears blank again, one must again tap it and recite, 'Mischief managed.'"

I tried and tapped the map with my wand before reciting "Mischief managed."

Instantly, the content disappeared.

"Thanks." I genuinely mean it.

"Your welcome. Hey, for our birthday, you must give the boh of us a good present." They said before telling me how to get to Diagon Alley.

I looked at the time and went to Diagon Alley as fast as I could. I went inside Obscurus Books and looked around the store until a certain book caught my eyes. After I took it off the shelf, I read pages about it before buying it. I also found an interesting small notebook that only when the password is said, may it be opened. Afterwards, I wrapped both presents up in violet wrapping paper before tying it with a light blue ribbon.

I then went to a cake shop and ordered two 5 ft x 5 ft cake, one was triple chocolate while the other was vanilla before leaving.

A few minutes ago, I went back to the cake shop and paid for the cake before escaping back to Hogwarts and somehow didn't get caught by anyone.

i prepared everything. From the banner in the middle of the room that said "Happy b-day to our favorite nerd!!!"  to the paper plates and jugs beside it. Some of the 5th years also bought large gallons of Butterbeers and I heard footsteps coming closer.

"Pig Snout."

The figure walked in but she was talking to her other friend before turning around and sees the scene that was in front of her.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERMIONE!" Everyone yelled, confetti flying everywhere.

She hld both of her hands over her mouth, gasping.

"Hey, don't just stand there. Come and cut the first slice of cake!"

She slowly walked over hand I gave her a party hat.

"Let's get this party started!!!" I yelled, getting many approvals among the Gryffindors except a few, like Percy the prefect.

We ate the cakes, played some games, and Hermione opened her gifts.

Some were books, others were ascessories. Finally, it was Edith's present that was next.

When she opened it, it was a book. More precisely, "Voyages with Vampires" by Gilderoy Lockhart.

Hermione squealed while I was laughed out loud.

There was one more present left on the pile, and it was mine.

I nervously waited for her to open it and when she opened it, the first thing she saw was "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" by Newt Scamainder and I tiny hard cover diary.

"Oh, and you need to use your wand and tap it before saying the password so it can remember your voice. Once you do it, only you can change password."

"Oh, Rowan." She ran over and hugged me on the spot, and honestly, I was surprised.

I slightly smiled before hugging her back.

While she was having fun with others, Harry, Edith, Ron, and I were chatting and as the party ends, Hermione and I were some of the students who stayed behind to clean up but as I was collecting trash, she mumbled

"It's the first time someone's ever done that to me..." without realizing that I had heard it.

After we finished, we went upstairs but I had one more present that I haven't Hermione haven't received yet.

"Hey, Hermione."

She turned around and I gave her a birthday card.

When she opened it, small fireworks exploded while tiny figures yelled

"HERMIONE THE BIRTHDAY GIRL!"

We both laughed and we slept peacefully without a care about the world. not knowing what the future holds, but I know. I know that we'll overcome it, without a doubt.
