Chapter Six
In the cafeteria, everyone was talking about Harry's and Natalie's break up. They had been the 'it couple' since ninth grade when they first got together, they had been prom king and queen, they had been voted 'best looking couple' every single year and absolutely everybody thought that they were eventually going to get married; therefore, their breakup was a huge deal for the student population.
"Anna, you owe me fifty."
"What Lola, That was four years ago!"
"A bet is a bet."
Speaking for everybody, Angelina decided to be the one who asked, "What in the world are you talking about?"
"It was back in freshman year when Natalie and Harry got together. Lola said they were going to break up and I said they were going to at least finish high school together so we made a bet and this is the result." Anna explained.
"I can't believe they are done." I commented.
"I can," Angelina replied, "I mean, I had been noticing a change in behavior in Harry since two months ago when he was completely ignoring Natalie's usual rant in History class."
"Well, Natalie does talk a lot." I shrugged.
"Yeah, but believe me,"Percy talked, "Harry would listen. Always, because he was so in love with her."
"I heard that Harry wants to have a break, like spend time with other girls and stuff. He must be tired of her." Anna was the one who always knew about the gossip in school. Don't even ask me how, she just knows.
"Anyways, you guys are all coming tonight right?" Anna asked worriedly because she had been planning her birthday party since a month ago. It was Lola's birthday as well. However, she chose to skip the party and settled for the gifts only.
Angelina stopped eating her Doritos and turned to Anna. "Are you kidding me? Today has been marked in my calendar since last year, of course we are going."
"Your sent the invitation a week ago. Even Marie is going." Said Percy referring to his younger sister who even though is a year younger than all of us, is a huge friend of Anna.
"Good, I'll see you at eight." She said before leaving for next period.
Chemistry was nothing but torture, I love chemistry but sometimes I feel like an m&m in the middle of a bunch of skittles: lost. The teacher was talking about the upcoming project that will be in pairs, the worst part was: she was going to chose our partners
"Amelia Anderson and Peter Jenkins, Sara Coleman and Martin Duncan."
I scanned the room searching for a proper partner and for possible outcomes but the only people that I would be comfortable with have been called already.
"Isabella Carter and Harry Renskoff-"
Wait, what? Harry Renskoff is so not a proper partner. He is the most irresponsible boy in the entire school probably; not to mention he just had a bad break- up. Well then, I guess I'll be doing the project by myself.
"I will give two or three periods for you to work on the project but that doesn't mean you won't have to meet out of school."
I mentally groaned because I know that in class, we will have to be working together and I was definitely not looking forward to that.
"So Carter, how does it feel to be the lucky one?" A voice that I was praying not to hear ever again arrived at my eardrums.
"Um, listen Harry," I lift my head and turned to the side where he was sitting.
