Chapter Five
This was supposed to be rehearsals, not bullying. Honestly, it has gotten to the point where Mrs. Dubois divided us in two opposite halves of the room so that I would not jump on Jordan and Anna for a fight.
"Don't get too feisty there Bella, you guys are far away but we can still hear you." Jordan shouted from the opposite end of the room as he circled his mouth with his hands to increase the volume.
I buried my face into my hands trying to hide the embarrassing blush that had appeared on my cheeks. Jake was standing right beside me doing nothing to stop the annoying Jordan. It's like he wasn't affected at all. Well, why would he be? I was the one who was throwing myself at him yesterday, not the other way around. I had even watched a video of me snuggling to Jake too close for my own good. The worst thing was that Anna had posted the video on the web.
Turns out that when you eat more than twenty grams of stilton cheese, you experiment hallucinations and are basically under the influence of drugs. Of course, Mr. Beaudreau didn't say this because he never thought someone would eat that much of cheese.
"I'm so so sorry. " I said without taking my hands off.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw him shrug mindlessly. Later, I felt him leaning against the wall I was currently supporting myself with. "By the way, you have to know that I'm the worst at this stuff. I mean, I practice a lot but it just doesn't come to me naturally, specially waltz. It's like my feet have a mind of their own. You have to be patient with me, I'm not a good dancer." I explained.
He chuckled.
"What? Seriously, I know I'm taking lessons but ask your mom, it gets harder for me."
"I don't give a shit wether you dance or not, you are going to be dancing with me." He pulled himself off the wall and stood up facing me. "And I'm the best."
Having him so close made me realize that his smell was indeed one of the best features of the package, so I may have taken a little sniff; just a tiny one I swear. I may understand why I acted so foolishly last night; he is so darn attractive and intimidating. "Okay." I said quickly, his proximity didn't allow me to give a proper reply.
"Good."
Mrs. Dubois set up a very difficult but extraordinary choreography for the Waltz section. When she performed it, everyone was enchanted; nevertheless, now that we are actually trying to follow her steps, we are not very enchanted at all. Jake got the hang of it pretty easily and I didn't which meant that he was entirely focused on teaching me so that we could continue with the next steps. Angelina and Percy were screaming at each other because it seemed that they didn't have the same speed. Anna and Luke were doing the Macarena instead, and Jordan was holding Lola's headphones up in the air out of her reach while she pulled on his shirt with a menacing look on her face.
I jumped when I felt a hand on my waist. My thoughts were interrupted when I realized that Jake was still explaining me how to be coordinated. "I know it looks like it goes slow, but listen;do it fast. If you dance with delicacy it will look like you are going slow when really you are going fast. "
"I, Um- I, " I couldn't really concentrate on his instructions when his hand was tight on my waist. I felt as though my skin was burning. "Uh, it's just hard to go as quickly as you go." I explained.
He nodded. "We are going to do some exercises in which you are going to imitate me. That way, we will be more coordinated with each other."
"Okay.", was my only reply. That earned me another chuckle from him. "What?" I asked acting like I didn't know.
