UZUME SIGHED, BORED, WATCHING
Ty Lee try to teach Azula the new tricks she had learned. Ty Lee sent a series of jabs at Mai to demonstrate how it worked, making the eldest girl fall over. Chi blocking, she called it, something Azula would definitely take advantage of. The brunette leaned her head against the tree behind her, watching the mother turtle-duck take care of her young, something she never knew a mother would do.Uzume's parents seemed to always just drop her off to play with Azula, then meet with Ozai for stupid stuff, in her opinion. In her peripheral vision, she saw Azula's older brother, Zuko, sit next to her.
"H-hi, Zuko here." She turned her head to make eye contact with the older boy, a soft smile gracing her lips. "I know it's you, dummy, you don't have to introduce yourself." She spoke teasingly, leaning closer to him. She began to admire his blushing face, drinking in the feeling of a crush.
"I just wanted to know... if you wanna hang out? Without Azula around?" Uzume looked at Azula watching Ty Lee flip in the air, hesitant since she had never hung out with Zuko alone before. Then, she looked back at him and gave him a solid nod and stood up. She brushed off the grass from her skirt and held her hand out for him to take.
Zuko took her hand with a blush on his face and soon they stood together, Zuko looking down into her eyes. He then began to run, hand still in hers, leading her inside the palace towards his room. Uzume glanced around, noticing it looks exactly like Azula's, noting that Ozai probably didn't let them decorate much. He sat down onto his bed casually, noticing him turn red again.
"Are you okay? You keep turning red, are you sick?" Uzume asked, wide eyes. She began to feel his forehead, then moved her hands to caress his cheeks. They looked into each other's eyes, curiosity and innocence filling them. Uzume began to lean closer when Zuko panicked, "Wanna play rescue?"
Uzume furrowed her eyebrows, confused, "What's rescue." She slowly moved her hands from his face, scooting away from him.
"It's where you pretend to be a princess and I rescue you from the bad dragon."
"But you're the actual royalty here. I'll be the knight that rescues you from the dragon." Uzume gave a cheeky smile to the prince, happy that he nodded.

"What do you plan on doing when you catch the Avatar?" Ty Lee asked Azula, the group of friends sitting in a tank following the trail of bison fur being left behind.
"Kill him of course."
This caused Uzume to look up from her nails that Mai was painting for her, "What? But he looked like he was just a kid." Azula's cold eyes met Uzume's concerned ones, a chilling look on her face, "And? He must be stopped."
"Stopped from what? He's a child! He hasn't killed anyone. Besides, how could you live with yourself if you kill someone?" Uzume shouted, standing up from where she sat with Mai. Mai and Ty Lee watched the other two girls, surprised the shortest of them had spoken out against their leader.
Azula's body went rigid, "That's enough. You know better than to speak out. You're lucky I had thought of you to join so you could get away from your parents and be with people who care!" Azula shouted, immediately making Uzume cower. To Mai and Ty Lee, she looked like a kicked puppy. To Azula, she looked weak and pathetic.
"Yes, Azula." Uzume whispered, looking away from the princess and down at her red nails. The group sat in silence. Mai's expressionless face looked to have a hint of sympathy on her face, Ty Lee looked at her friend with sadness before continuing to look out the tank's scope. Azula, however, continued to stare at the back of Uzume's head, liking the way she cowered.
