"Dinner is served," the head chef announces, the silver domes over the trays of food whisked off. It reveals seafood of all sorts, from grilled shrimp to lobsters, sushi to nori salad.
"It looks divine, thank you!" You smile as the servants back off to let you and your friends eat.
"So where'd you go earlier, Y/N-" as Wonpil was about to speak, an inebriated Jungkook busts through the dining room doors, causing everyone in the room to jump out of fright.
"What the fu-" you're about to curse, when Taehyung and Namjoon come running into the room, pulling Jungkook back by his arms, who keeps trying to fight them off to get to you.
"Y/N, I-" he hiccups loudly as you roll your eyes, not wanting to deal with this. "Need to talk to Y/N- let me go! 'M gonna talk to Y/N!" Jungkook, despite his strong struggling, is dragged out of the room, Namjoon and Taehyung's faces beet red.
You shake your head out of sheer irritation, almost feeling nauseous. "I'm not even going to fucking deal with that. Not a me problem. Anyways, I got in another fight with them, so I went out and spent some time by the Han River at a spot I always enjoyed. It was quite peaceful, and it really calmed me down. I missed it."
"I hope it wasn't the only thing you missed." You turn towards the entrance of the dining room, finding your parents standing with bags in their hands.
"Mother! Father!" Your chair screeches against the hard wood as you scoot it back, running into your parents arms to embrace them in a tight hug. You, of course, haven't seen them in three years, so this surprise visit is a welcomed one.
"Hi, love, you miss us?" Your father asks, holding you tightly.
"Clearly," Jaerin chuckles, getting out of her seat and walking towards you three.
"Jaerin, sweetie! How we've missed you!" Your mother enthuses, letting Jaerin throw herself into her arms.
"Three years was too long," your father chuckles. "And who are these fine young men?"
"Ah, this is King Mark and King Johnny, who rule over the Kingdoms of America and Canada, and this is Wonpil, Head of their Royal Guard."
"Very nice to meet you," your mother and father bow, receiving some in turn.
"Sit down, please, I'll tell the chef to make some extra for you," you were about to head to the kitchen, when your parents stopped you.
"We ate when we landed... there's actually something we wanted to talk to you about..."
                              —
"Jungkook, you fucking idiot!" Yoongi scolds trying not to be too loud in the library.
"I had to tell her, Hyung, she needs to know!" Jungkook whines, tears pooling in his eyes, his emotions in a frenzy because of the alcohol in his bloodstream.
"Jungkook, she can't know. Now calm down, or else we'll have to lock you in your bedroom again. You understand?" Namjoon speaks slowly, as if he were talking to a child.
Jungkook reluctantly nods with a pout, not wanting to be locked away for not being able to control his mouth, even when he promised he would for his best friends' sakes.
                              —
                                   "A ball?"
"Yes, and it will be huge!" Your father enthuses, gripping your mother's hand.
"We've invited everyone. Once you told us of your flight back, we immediately sent out the invites," your mother explains.
"Mom, I'm so jet-lagged, and I haven't even gotten used to the standards of Korea again. In America, I didn't have to worry about my image, but here? I can't even say y'all without being improper. They don't even know what y'all means here! And they'd judge me for it, son of a bi-"
"Okay, okay, it's all going to be alright, Y/N, I swear! Just trust us! We're looking for something..." your father trails off, looking towards your mother.
"Sorry, sir, but what exactly are you looking for?" Wonpil asks, raising an eyebrow as he cracks a crab leg.
"Well, if you must know... it's a suitor for Y/N," your mother confesses.
All of your friends start to absolutely cackle, making fun of your predicament.
"Mother! Father! What the hell were you thinking? I can't believe you were trying to play matchmaker!"
"Oh no, we're not playing matchmaker. This is all up to you. You don't need to marry anyone, you've already proven how well you can run a kingdom by yourself, but you seem so lonely, sweetheart..." your mother sighs, laying her hands flat on the table.
"It's just- it's been three years, Y/N. You were married to assholes that let you down. You deserve so much better. And there's so many other men- and women- who would give you that. Just... think about it, okay?" Your father gives you a half smile, hoping you'll take them up on the offer.
"We love supportive parents in this household!" Mark grins, kissing his husband's cheek.
"Please Y/N, just consider finding another person you can trust and love-"
"She can't trust and love me?" Jaerin pouts, crossing her arms over her chest as she sits back in her chair.
"Do you want to have sex with her?" Your father blanches, shrugging as everyone except you starts cackling.
                                   "No!" Jaerin gags.
                                   "Hey!" You pout.
