Chapter 5: The cold winter coming to an end

The next morning; "Ah..." Shiyo as she feeds Takumi at the hospital.

Takumi raise his eyebrow up. Hesitant to take it.

"What?" Shiyo asked.

"I can do it myself. It's embarrassing." He looks away and that made her laugh.

"Don't laugh... Another thing, your hand burnt." He worries as he tries to get the spoon from her.

"Let me do it for you. I want to try this once in a while." She smiled.

"You'll be late in class." He excuses.

"Are you driving me away?" she accused.

He sigh and gave up to her then she give this 'there's no helping it' smile.

"Ah..." This time Takumi let her feed him.

They heard a knock on the door before the doctor came in.

"Konnichiwa (hello)." Shiyo greeted, standing.

"Konnichiwa (hello)." The doctor replied with a smile.

"It's nice to have your lover take care of you, isn't it?" the doctor teases.

They both freezes embarrassed.

"Ah-I've got to be going now." Shiyo embarrassingly get her bag pack.

"Don't worry, I'll take in charge of him." the doctor reassures her.

"Onegaishimasu (please sir)." She smiled with a bow.

"Be careful." He says and she turned to him to return that smile. She was gone a step towards the door but she turned and run towards Takumi and gave him a quick kiss on his cheek.

"I'm leaving." she run through her way out.

He was surprised he touched his cheek.

"Ah-" He turned on the right side to remember that his doctor is there.

"She's sweet, isn't she?" the doctor teases him.

He turned away with his face red.


--They spent so much time together. They're both happy with each other's company. It's been months.--

--She held his cold hands within this cold winter. She thought; if it means being with him, She'll hold onto this cold hands until it freezes her to death.--

"What are you writing?" Takumi asks peeking on her sitting beside his bed.

"Is this the same story you always write?" he asked again.

She only answered smiling.

"You can't tell me?" he pouts.

Then, she smiled. "It's our story."

"Our story? Why did you choose our story? It will be very sad." He comments.

"Because I want to share how I met the right person on the right time, at the right place."

They starred at each other.

"At the right time? What does it made you think it's the right time when it's not perfect." He asks feeling down.

"Are you trying to measure when is the perfect time? There's no perfect time. Every time is perfect only if we do something to make it perfect." She smiled positively.

"I use to be more pessimistic but after meeting you, slowly I got immeasurable courage and to think of positive things to come." She gave him her gratitude.
