Chapter 1: Dreams

Annie stood on the outskirts of the Hudson River as she looked at the city. There was a storm brewing in the skies. Purple brilliant lightning struck and in the clouds there was a subtle silhouette. It looked as if something with horns was watching the city. Then a voice that was almost like a whisper came to Annie.

"I'm coming Annamay Parker, and you better be ready." It said and then from within the clouds a massive hand crushed the city as if it were a bug underneath a shoe. Annie screamed as she sat up and she saw that it was the middle of the night. She breathed in and out heavily.

"Ok not to be a pain in the ass, but I'm getting really tired of this." Annie heard the familiar voice and recognized it as her roommate Katherine "Kitty" Pryde. " You know maybe, and I'm not saying this because I'm irritated, but maybe you should go see the school councilor regarding this issue. I mean, you keep saying that its nothing but everyone knows what your dad told you before you came here. There's something coming and it could be dangerous to everyone here. So either you can go talk to someone, or the next time you have a nightmare, I'm reporting it." Kitty said and Annie nodded.

"Yeah, this nightmare was different, and it cant be good." Annie said and Kitty looked concerned. The young hero was about three years older than Annie.

"What happened?" Kitty asked.

"Before it was my imagination running wild with the possibilities, but not this one. This one was real. I'm pretty sure it made contact with me." Annie said and Kitty looked uneasy.

"Are you positive?" Kitty asked and Annie nodded her head at her roommate. "Ok screw the councilor, we're going to Professor X."

"We'll go in the morning." Annie sighed tiredly.

"No, we're going now. You see, when you have a vision about some dangerous dude who threatens all humanity, its best not to keep it to yourself, and its important to not wait it out just because your tired." Kitty said and she grabbed Annie by the hand and started to drag her down the corridors of the school. After a while they came across the office and they saw that the light was on and there were multiple teachers in the room with Professor X.

"We have an imminent danger coming our way." Professor X said and Annie and Kitty hid. "Sadly we don't know when it's coming, but it's massive. More massive than anything we have handled, and even more massive than anyone the Avengers have handled." Professor X said and Logan chimed in.

"Didn't the Avengers fight that alien dude who wiped out half the world?" Logan asked.

"Yes they did. He went by the name of Thanos, and he wiped half the universe out Logan." Professor X explained.

"So how can something be more dangerous than that?" Logan responded.

"This Villain's hand is the size of New York, and I'm not making an analogy, I'm being literal. It's face is as big as half the earth. It desires one fight and one fight only." Charles said and then he said something that shocked Annie. "Isn't that right Miss Parker?" Annie and Kitty froze in place and then Logan poked his head out and saw the kids and he motioned for them to come into the room.

Annie went into the room but Kitty stayed right outside the door. Annie looked nervous.

"I was just coming to tell you." Annie said and Charles raised an eyebrow.

"No you weren't. You were never going to say anything because you were nervous that we would think that your crazy." Charles said and Annie looked at the ground. "It's the same reason that you've kept all of your nightmares a secret." Annie looked to him in shock. "Yes I've seen them. Sadly your nightmares are some of the strongest dreams I've ever encountered. You have not been well since you started here and yet," Charles looked around the room. "You are the smartest student in the entire school. Your brilliant in so many ways. Miss Parker,"
