Peter walked into his lab and saw Annie in her new suit and he felt his heart ache. He wasn't ok with it.
"So you don't want to be an Avenger I assume." Annie looked to Peter and saw him standing there sadly.
"I'm just trying it on Dad. I mean, all of the x-men wear silver or yellow. They work as a team." Annie began to explain.
"You saying the Avengers don't work together?" Peter asked.
"No they don't. They work beside each other." Annie replied.
"What's the difference?" Peter was getting impatient.
"Each Avenger fights for their own reasons, they are each strong in their own way, and they are even stronger when they fight together, but they are not a team." Annie replied and Peter looked frustrated.
"You weren't there. You saw what you wanted to see from the Infinity war. The Avengers worked together through and through." Peter made a point. "They sacrificed everything to bring back half the universe."
"Dad, I'm not trying to make you guys feel bad. I just can't be a part of the Avengers. I can help you guys when you need it, but with everything that's happened, I can't do it, because no matter what I do, none of them will ever trust me. The Alpha squadron accepts me for who I am." Annie made her point and Peter threw a low blow.
"Was that before or after everyone found out that you were going to save the entire world?" Peter snapped and Annie shook her head as she looked away.
"I don't get why this bothers you so much. You should be happy for me, but your jealousy refuses to die away." Annie said as she tried not to cry.
"Your abandoning your home!" Peter snapped. "Your running from your problems because your scared!"
"Last time I checked I was standing up against Galactus." Annie pointed out.
"I'm not talking about him, I'm talking about the Osborns and the villains here." Peter snapped.
"Those are your problems! Not mine! So yeah I'm running from them, because im tired of taking the hits!" Annie snapped back and Peter knew she was right.
"You will never forgive us for fearing you, will you?" Peter asked.
"I did forgive you guys, but I'll never forget it." Annie replied and Peter felt the tears fill his eyes.
"You know I love you right?" Peter asked and Annie nodded as she stood there.
"I know..." Annie paused and then she let a few tears fall. "And now you have to let me go." Peter looked to her sadly.
"Your my baby." Peter cried and Annie went over and hugged him.
"And I'll always be your baby girl. Nothing will ever change that." Annie sighed and soon they parted. Peter pulled a hair out of Annie's face.
"Your staying for Christmas and your birthday though right?" Peter asked and Annie smiled and nodded. "God I love you so much." Peter said.
"Isn't this touching?" A deep voice said and Annie and Peter turned and found someone who was in the dark. Both were confused because their spider senses weren't going off. Annie read the persons soul and looked grossed out.
"You go by the name Doctor Michael Morbius." Annie sighed and the person stepped out from the dark. "As dangerous as you can be to any regular human, your not dangerous to us." Annie added and the person raised an eyebrow.
"At least not yet." Morbius replied and Annie took a step forward.
"What can we do for you?" Annie asked and Morbius smirked.
