Peter was studying a cooking book as he sat in the kitchen beside MJ. He had been asked to make dessert for the Avenger's Christmas party. Peter looked really confused.
"Hey MJ, what does yield mean?" Peter asked.
"Stop." MJ replied and Peter looked to her.
"No I will not stop, I've gotta figure this baking shit out so the Avengers don't tease me about last year. I've gotta knock it out of the park so Im making a chocolate cake layered with a peppermint vanilla icing, covered in a chocolate peppermint ganache!" Peter snapped and MJ chuckled.
"Well the word yield means stop in normal day culture, but im not sure what it means in baking." MJ chuckled and so Annie decided to reveal her presence.
"In baking the word yield refers to the amount of what you've baked. For example if a recipe for muffins says that the recipe yields 24 muffins, that gives you an idea of exactly how many times you should be separating the dough." Annie said and Peter and MJ just looked at her in pure happiness. Peter had tears in his eyes and he got up and rushed over to Annie and hugged her.
"Oh I missed you so much." Peter sighed and Annie smiled as she enjoyed the hug.
"I missed you too." Annie sighed and then they parted and MJ hugged her. Just then Tony walked into the room with Thor and they were talking. Thor saw Annie and got very excited.
"SPIDER CHILD!!!" Thor shouted and he ran over and hugged her. "Oh how we all have missed your oh so gracious presence." Tony smiled as he saw her. He waited his turn though. Thor eventually parted and Annie saw Tony and grinned from ear to ear.
"You have grown so much." Tony sighed and then he walked over and hugged her. "Its really good to see you."
"Oh you have a cook book Peter," Thor said and Peter cringed as he knew what was going to happen. "Why? Don't you prefer cooking without any regard to how baking is supposed to be done? Or were you just stupid and mistook the tiny salt shaker for the big bag of sugar?" Thor teased Peter and Peter looked to him with a frown.
"You know what Thor, I'm going to make an amazing dessert and you cant have any." Peter said and Thor chuckled.
"Thank you Spider-Boy but I don't need you to protect me from your dreadful cooking. I have had to stomach much worse in my lifetime." Thor said and then he left the room.
"Its Spider MAN." Peter corrected Thor.
"Maybe in YOUR perspective!!!" Thor shouted back.
"ANNIE!!" A young female scream came closer and closer and soon Morgan ran in. She had grown several feet since the last time Annie had seen her. Morgan hugged Annie and Annie grinned from ear to ear.
"Hey Morgan." Annie laughed and soon the two parted. Annie looked up and noticed another person in the room and her smile faded.
"Look, Annie," Steve sighed. "I don't deserve your forgiveness and I would never ask for it. But you deserve an apology. I tried to apologize last time, but I couldn't find the ability to do it. What I said was so wrong, and I pulled you and your dad apart. I am so sorry for everything, but the reason I came back was because I came to my senses. Your not power hungry, you're a victim of circumstance." Vision and Wanda walked into the room as they heard Annie. Sam and Bucky were right behind them.
"We'll see if you mean that, after I address the elephant in the room." Annie said. Everyone looked to her and Annie looked worried. "I've been having nightmares all year. My imagination has run wild and the reality stone has only made those dreams worse. However last night, the nightmares turned into reality as they changed in a horrifying way that Im not comfortable with. This wasn't a dream, it was an attempt of contact between me and the danger that us stone wielders have been sensing." Annie sighed and Peter looked incredibly concerned for Annie.
