Annie was in surgery as other doctors tended to Peter's many wounds. Both of them had been put under anesthesia so they wouldn't feel the pain. Logan watched from a distance and Professor X rolled over to him.

"Do we know what that freak was? Annie's a powerful kid and it damn near killed her." Logan sighed in concern.

"It's a species only dangerous to Annie's race. The spider enhanced people around the universe, are it's life source. It's vampiric in a way. The worst part is that he's not the only one. He's the first of many. Especially since we have their family member in custody. One family mates within its family through acts of incest. It's their only way of life. They are the last ones in existence. There are only four of them left. One of which is half spider being, half inheritor. He is the one who is trying to protect all of the good heroes that these fiends are going after. Morlun must acquire a good amount of energy before he will successfully be able to mate with his sister. He's already killed and eaten 15 different spider beings but theres something different about Annie, Peter, and Michelle that has drawn the inheritor here. They are all in serious danger." Professor X said. Logan looked genuinely bothered by what had just been said.

"Ok. There's a lot about what you just said that disgusts me. And speaking of things that disgust me, it appears that Quire has stolen Annie's heart." Logan sighed and Professor X chuckled.

"No, I believe it's the other way around my friend." Professor X laughed and Logan looked over at Quentin and saw him on the phone.

"He's calling Annie's mother to see if she's alright." Professor X explained and then he looked to Logan. "She was attacked as well but the Avengers protected her successfully. He gave up quite quickly once Thor struck him with lightning." Logan raised and eyebrow and looked to Professor X.

"Charles are you seriously reading his mind to hear what their conversation is about?" Logan asked and Professor X nodded. Quentin walked over to them as he was off the phone.

"Um, the Avengers are on their way here." Quentin said and Professor X looked to him.

"Good. Now, lets address the elephant in the room." Professor X said and he looked to Quentin sternly. "You need to stop day dreaming about the thing you and Miss Parker did while you were away, because I don't particularly like the images I keep exposing myself to accidentally." Quentin frowned.

"Then maybe you should mind your own business." Quentin said as he tried to act like he used to and Professor X smirked.

"I'm glad that girl has made you see sense. I can understand how strange it is to finally see someone with a more tragic life than your own. You've never had that happen, but here we are and she's changed you completely, and shockingly, your ok with it." Charles said and Quentin looked in the operating room and couldn't help it.

"I couldn't stop myself from falling in love with her, and now I have to worry about losing her for the ten thousandth time and yet, I don't want to back out of this relationship. I love her too much to hurt her no matter how painful seeing her in pain is." Quentin was honest and Charles smiled genuinely.

"I always knew you were an amazing young man inside and I'm glad you finally found your flower in the garden of thistles." Professor X said and Quentin nodded and walked away. .....

It was about 5 a.m. and the doctors walked out of the infirmary. Quentin ran into the infirmary and saw that Peter was awake and Annie was asleep in a bed beside him. Peter was already healing pretty decently. Peter looked to Quentin with tears in his eyes.

"Thank you." Peter thanked Quentin and Quentin smirked.

"I wasn't gonna let her die, and because I love her, I couldn't let you die. As upset as she is with you, I know how much she loves you. Your wife's ok by the way. Morlun went to attack her but the Avengers protected her. They should all be here any minute." Quentin revealed and Peter nodded in understanding.
