Chapter 2: Nearly Caught

I sprinted towards an empty alley avoiding to get much attention.

It will now begin.

  Grace, followed by James and Mimi, attempted to cut my cheek but I managed to dodge her attack and hit her abdomen.

  I found a small opening on Grace's right and went for it but it seems that Mimi noticed my intention and blocked my way.

  Mimi unsheathed her weapon.

  Now I have two persons to watch out for. This is just great.

  She pointed the sharp tip of her silver sword towards me while her eyes were showing the I'm-sorry look. Mimi lunged at me in an uncertain way and missed me when I glided to the side.

  Grace recovered from the hit I gave her earlier and tried to bury her dagger at my side.

  I sensed her presence from behind and forced myself to move to the opposite side which resulted to Mimi getting stabbed in the arm.

  Grace gasped and while Mimi is hovering over the pain she got from Grace's dagger, I sneaked away from the scene

  James grabbed my arm tightly and my plan of escaping quietly failed as he held me in place waiting for me to acknowledge him for capturing me alive. But I'm not an easy opponent to deal with and I always have my ways of getting out of this trouble.

  "It was easier than I thought it would be." James muttered but he does not seem glad of this accomplishment.

  I turned my head around and threw a helpless look at him and said, "James, you're hurting me."

  "So-sorry"

  He loosened his grip on me and I caught him off guard and that's when I twisted my hand, freeing it from his hold but accidentally inflicting pain on my wrists in the process of doing.

Christopher's POV

  She just left us without telling us the reason of why she left. I didn't even get the chance to ask her of how she ended up falling.

  "Karl, stay here for a moment and wait till I get back. 'Kay?"

  Karl looked at me and hesitated but then he obeyed what I said.

  I immediately went out of the house to look for Charn and I got a glimpse of her running with two girls and a guy following from behind her.

The girl who held a dagger had a desperate look on her face. The other two were somewhat facing the other way so I had no idea of what they looked like.

  Wait.. A girl who held a dagger?!

  I tensed up as I ran after them. This is serious and I don't think Charn has recovered completely from her fall.

  When I was finally near to where they were, Charn was running at my direction.

  I called out her name and she looked at me as if nothing happened. "Hey... Uh..."

"Its Christopher Kyle. Just call me Kyle."

"Heh, sorry bout that Kyle and I'm sorry about leaving just like that earlier." She said while grunting.

"Char-"

"Just call me Venice"

"Okay... Venice? Why don't you stay at our house for the night?"

"Sure."

  Then she swiftly walked away as if something is bothering her.

  I decided to not ask her about it for now. It not a good time for that

  When we finally reached the house, I opened the door for her and she went in.

  Karl welcomed her back and led her to the bed in which she was laying in a while ago and I started asking questions.

"Why did you just leave like that?"

   She stared at me for a moment and finally said," I thought I saw someone I knew so I ran after that person. But turns out it that my eyes betrayed me and it was somebody else."

  Karl noticed that Venice was being conscious about something but shook the thought off by mumbling some words to himself and said," I think we need to eat dinner first."

  I nodded and went out to buy our dinner and decided to leave Karl and Venice for a while.

  While finding something to eat for dinner, I saw those three persons again and they were looking for someone. I decided not to mind them so I went on my way but there is a lingering feeling inside of me that's telling me something's definitely not right.

  I forgot to ask her about them. Maybe I should do that when I return later.

Poof! Sorry if it wasn't as long as my previous chapter. >.

But when Karl and Therese (Venice's real name) were alone in the house... What do you think Karl noticed earlier? Will he ask the so called "Charn Venice" about that? Will both of them find out her real name?
