 Ciel's POV

I woke up doing the same routine. Sebastian opens the curtains, serves me tea while changing my clothes, and he tells me my schedule.

But after Sebastian enumerated the events for the day, he told me something odd. "Young master, I found Lord Jonathan in the kitchen this morning. He appears to be ill."

Jonathan did go to the kitchen last night. Wasn't he able to return to his room?

"He is scheduled to return to her Majesty's manor this morning. Am I right?" Sebastian nodded. "Cancel his return and send a letter to her Majesty saying that Jonathan will be staying here a bit longer." Sebastian replied,"Yes, My Lord." And with that, he left the room.

I sighed. It would ruin my reputation if news got out that someone fell ill in my manor.

On the way to my study, I noticed one of the guest room's door was slightly open. I entered the room and I saw Jonathan laying at the bed, breathing weakly, with his maid Ellaine tending to him.

His maid stood up and bowed, acknowledging my prescence and returned to tending her master again.

I went to the side of the bed. I noticed that Jonathan is awake. He looked at me with his eyes that seems... Bright?

"Oh... Good morning Ciel! How nice of you to come here." He said... Rather too lively despite his condition.

"How are you feeling, Jonathan?" He tilted his head to the side and flashed me a smile saying,"I feel GREAT!" He sounded like he was having fun,"But if you want me to answer honestly, then I'd say, I'm fine."

Something is definitely wrong with him.

"Are you usually like this when you're ill?" I hesitantly asked.

His expression darkened and his voice deepened. "Who knows." Then he started to grin at me... The dark aura ealier disappeared just like that. "Actually... I don't know."

Is this Jonathan? "Jo-jonathan." I stuttered out. "What's wrong?"

"Oh... Sorry about that Ciel. I get a bit 'hyper' at times." He assured me. But I still don't believe him. "Ah hehe... Ciel, you can now leave." I snapped out of my thoughts. "Oh yes..." Then I left.

Therese's POV

"Young master, you shouldn't push yourself too much. You don't need to put up an act in front of Lord Phantomhive." Ellaine was worried sick because she knew I wasn't alright.
I smiled weakly at her."I only did that so he would leave. But I guess I over did it." She giggled."You did the opposite. You also looked like you were enjoying." I smirked at her. "I had to. But it already happened. Its all in the past." She gave me a sweet smile. "Whatever you say... Young master."

A few minutes later, Ellaine went out to change the towel. I got out of bed and I felt the soreness of my body.

I slowly walked to the window the get the view of the garden. It looked attractive. "Roses...." It echoed in my mind...

What does that mean? What does it have to do with me?

I repeated this question in my mind over and over again. I decided to go to the bathroom to cool myself and reflect on the things that have happened.
