"HOW THE HELL DID WE MISS THAT?"

Scott and Stiles stared up at the ceiling in the living room of the McCall home. They swore they cleaned everything up from the party Liam threw the night before. Except, neither of them had noticed a giant stain above their heads. At least, they thought it was a stain.

The black veins stretched out from a single point, having grown to a certain extent like a fungus. Liam and Corey informed the seniors that it was the entrance of the ghost rider.

Mason was the one who explained, "It's a point of impact from a lightning strike."

"He's right," Stiles agreed, since he now had gotten a better glimpse of it. He moved his gaze from the ceiling to Scott. "But usually you'd find charred spots like that on the ground. You know, after a violent thunderstorm."

"So the Ghost Rider rode lightning and bypassed the mountain ash," Scott deducted, his lips tugged down into a frown. "Perfect."

Stiles rested his hands on his hips and shook his head. "This isn't good," he said, causing everyone to look at him. "If the ghost riders can get past mountain ash, that means no place is safe."

"What about the others?" a worried Corey questioned, referencing the students who attended the party. He was the one who brought visibility to the ghost rider. "It's my fault they're marked."

"We'll find a way to protect them," Scott stated, Stiles hearing the werewolf's signature determination in his tone. "All of them."

He came up with a plan. Hayden would keep an eye on Gwen during school, since the lacrosse player was the ghost riders' primary target from the night before. Liam and Mason went to the library to conduct more research on lightning and Corey went to his normal classes to keep his eyes peeled.

Stiles and Scott kept their focus on learning about Sierra. After meeting up with Malia and Lydia in the hallway, the banshee informed them about relics. They were objects with a fixed association to the past.

Liam and Corey found one from their classmate Jake in the form of his library card. Gwen still had the bracelet her sister made. Lydia believed there was a chance Sierra left a relic as well.

Malia furrowed her eyebrows, beside Scott. "How can someone be erased and still leave something behind?"

"A conservation of mass," Lydia answered, with Stiles on her left. In her hand, she held onto Jake's ID--to which Stiles found himself staring at. "The total mass of any isolated system remains constant."

"So even the ghost riders have a weakness," Scott understood, brightening up. "This is good."

"You mean, this is excellent," Stiles corrected, growing excited as he slightly bounced on his toes. "A relic would be proof that Sierra existed. That we're not insane."

"A definite yes to the first part," Lydia nodded and cracked a grin. "Not so sure about the second half. But there's a chance if we find her relic, it could help bring her back."

Malia asked an important question. "How do we know where to look?"

"What about Jemma's house?" Stiles suggested, crossing his arms. "If Sierra really was her sister, then that's where she lived right? The Pages have been my neighbors all my life."

"Which would explain how you and Sierra were so close," Scott caught onto his best friend's thinking. He turned to the banshee. "Lyd, you and Stiles check with Jemma and see if she'll let you guys do a sweep. See if you feel any connections. I'm going to go check on Mason and Liam. See if they found anything about the lightning."
