THE PIKE CLATTERED TO THE FLOOR.
Lost in the scuffle as Scott focused solely on fighting the Beast.
Sebastien transformed when Scott and Liam did, acting like a shadow pretending to be real. The oil black, solid but shapeless, body loomed over the two teenagers. The Beast roared with every swing, the sounds bouncing throughout the tunnel walls.
Sebastien thought he finally got the arrogant youths to back down. He slammed its claws to the cement floor, the wave of power flinging Scott and Liam through the air.
Scott groaned, the pipes colliding with his spine. Liam fell in a giant puddle, knocking his head against a post. Their chests heaved up and down, their energy dwindling with every defensive attempt. They had to keep the pike away from Sebastien at least until Sierra and Lydia arrived.
Unfortunately, the true empath and banshee were nowhere to be seen.
A gasp escaped Scott as the Beast grabbed him by the throat. Scott scrambled for his feet to be back on the ground, his body pressed into the cement wall. Sebastien shifted into his human form, examining the true alpha who fought against his grip.
Sebastien didn't lighten up. He merely tilted his head. "You're strong, there's no doubt in that," he commented first, glancing to the beta on the floor. "But neither of you fight with a killer instinct. Let me show you how to go for the throat."
Scott protested, eyes wide as he tried to breath. His chest tightened, the lack of air blurring his vision. He winced, feeling a few of his bones crack from Sebastien's hold.
Liam finally managed to stand, snatching the pike into his grasp. Sebastien's head whipped around from hearing it unsheathed, while Scott panicked.
"Liam, wait," he begged, his red irises still glowing. "We can still save Mason!"
"Who's going to save you?"
"What kind of werewolves are you?" Sebastien demanded, disgusted as he flitted his gaze between them. His grip on Scott's throat tightened.
Liam growled, and Scott couldn't do anything to stop him when he charged. "No, Liam!"
Sebastien caught Liam's wrist with his free hand, knocking the pike out of the way. Then, roughly he threw the beta back. Now aggravated and out of patience, Sebastien turned back to Scott.
The true alpha collapsed on his knees at more of his bones snapping, losing his breath once more. Sebastien sprouted long claws from his fingertips, and stabbed them into the back of Scott's neck--wanting to end his life once and for all.
Scott gasped, his red eyes glowing more brightly before. A gust of wind struck his face and it felt like his body got thrown back into time from Sebastien's actions.
He could see her dark hair falling over her shoulders, or being tucked behind her ear. Her chestnut eyes lighting up or filling with heartbroken tears. Multiple arrows released from her favorite bow, striking the bullseye every time. The way her lips curled into a smile after they kissed, or pressed together in concentration during a fight.
