Let me start by quoting a very familiar instance which everyone in this world knows.DRAUPADI KA CHEER HARAN,
The reason behind the destruction of the kuru dynasty. How many of you can guess the topic am going to pen down?
No one?
Okay, so let me start with a simple question.
What would have happened if this cheer haran of kulvadhu draupadi hadn't happened? Would there have been any mahabharat?
No, right...
It was rightly said by lord Krishna that this mahabharat was not because of duryodhan or sakuni's evil plans but it was because of three mighty warriors, the ones who were the top most in knowledge and power. Maharathi Karna, Pithamaha Bhishma and Guru Dhronacharya, had these three great men sacrificed their assumed dharam and not supported duryodhan then he wouldn't have dared to do such a misdeed with Dhrupad kumari Panchali Draupadi. Knowingly or unknowingly they refused to support the right and choose the wrong side.
The reason why I quoted this epic scene from mahabharat is to make you, my readers realise how right upbringing and knowledge is important in one's life. Even today if a young girl is inappropriately touched, there are people who hold that girl responsible for the mishap. Though to show to the world they curse the men who dared to do it, but still behind the screens it's the same old dialogues and theories.
Had she worn full and covered clothes this wouldn't have happened to her.
Hey girl, don't wear short clothes, zamaana kharab ha. If anything wrong happens?
My question to all those people is that if wearing short clothes was sin, if wearing tight clothes is a sin then why was draupadi ka cheer haran done? I guess she wasn't wearing any mini skirt or short tops that provoked duryodhan to do such a mishap.
Why is a little six month old child been raped?
And what about a 50 year old woman wearing saree all the time raped?
It's time to wake up people, its not a girl's clothing that is the reason but it's the way a boy or a man looks at that girl. Stop asking girls to wear full clothes or loose clothes and start teaching your boys to treat every girl as his sister or mother.
The reason why I felt I should start with this topic was the recent Nirbhaya case convicts who were finally hanged after years of waiting for justice. Despite the fact that the right people won, I wasn't satisfied. I felt like this was too liberal for those convicts. They should have been alive, and should have been given such a punishment that would remind them of their misdeeds every second till death. Those hands which dared to touch a girl should have been cut so that he would never ever think of touching a girl again. His cut hands should remind him of his evil karam every second. Death is just a second of pain which is not at all enough for those men who show their manliness to a woman.
To all those who beat up a woman to feed their male ego, rape girls and kids, use abusive words on women. I would like to tell them that it's just the start of another mahabharat. We are not scared of you. In fact, such men are nothing but only cowards. We stand together against all those evil minded people and male egoistic men.
