Life and death

Before starting, let's take a minute to pray for our jawans who lost their life at the Galwan valley attack by the Chinese troops. May their soul rest in peace and may their family come out of this loss soon.

My today's article is also something related to Life and Death as the title suggests.

Losing someone important in your life is a terrible feeling, I agree. But what I am hearing these days is even more terrible and i.e suicide. As per the telecom industry records, after Sushanth sing rajput's death the number of calls regarding mental sickness and depression has increased. People are calling the mental counselling helpline numbers and telling that they are suffering with depression as well. They are asking if they should end their lives like Sushanth did.

I mean, what are people even thinking?

Ending lives, like seriously?

I would not deny this that Sushanth was one of my favourite actors. From pavitra rishta to chichhore, I have watched all his movies and shows. His last movie Chichhore I felt was the best movie in his career. It carried such a strong message saying that suicide is not an option, we should live and keep trying. One day we will prove ourselves and taste success. I had watched that movie almost three times but then what happened a week back and the reaction from the public has been shocking.

I don't know what that actor was going through in life, what made him end his life but it has set a wrong example among the youngsters and his fans. People are thinking about suicide now. It has become an easy option to everyone but to all those thinking about it I would call them cowards. Don't run away from your problems and learn to face them. I agree there comes a saturation point in everyone's life, Me, you and everyone else. But learn to face it, that point is your testing time. If you pass it, life will be beautiful ahead and if not then the world will call you a coward.

I don't have a job, shall I end my life?

My girlfriend ditched me and got engaged, shall I end my life?

I failed in my entrance exam, shall I end my life?

What kind of questions are these? These are just a few tests that you have to pass in the exam called life. As I told in my last article, nothing is constant in this world. Changes are the underlying truth of this world. Today's tough time will not prevail tomorrow.

If suicide was the only option in this world to get rid of our worries and problems then Lord Krishna would have let Arjun end his life at the beginning of the war itself. Similarly, Draupadi would have also ended her life after the Cheer haran that happened to her after the game of dice.

But he chose to explain Arjun the reality of life.

In the Chapter 1 of Bhagavat gita it is told that, Arjun was worried, confused and refuses to fight with his own grandfather, guru, brothers, brother's sons and grandsons. He tells Lord Krishna that he wouldn't get anything other than pain if he kills his own family. He puts down his weapons and refuses to fight. He even says that he will end his life rather than killing his family.

For which Lord Krishna in the Chapter 2 of Bhagavat Gita is seen calling Arjun a coward. He says that he doesn't have the courage to face his worries and is running away from fulfilling his duties. Shri Krishna explains the depressed Arjun that life and death is the cycle of life. These two pages in a person's life is already written by the almighty and moreover why are you mourning for the ones who will always be alive.

Arjun here is getting more confused and asks for a clear explanation from Lord Krishna. For which the latter explains him that Life and death is only for the body, whereas the soul of the person always remains alive. No one can kill the soul of a person. This soul then finds another body to live in, hence the soul of the dead will always be alive. So mourning for an alive person isn't right. Moreover he asks Arjun to stop thinking about the aftermath effects and just do his karma( duty) with courage and not be a coward.

Similarly to all those planning to follow the wrong path of suicide, I request you to stop being a coward and gather the courage to face your problems. Fight and handle your problems and stop using the easy way of ending your lives. Do your duty and stop worrying about the results. Remember the above words of Lord Krishna if you ever feel to end your life.

Lastly stop circulating the last pictures of Sushanth. Let the family of the dead be peaceful. These pictures are misleading the younger generations of our country by setting a wrong example.
