"I remember that night so well. Everyone smiling as they weaved baskets. Telling scary stories around the fire. Though as this happened, i heard the sound of a flute. My eyes grew heavier and heavier, i couldn't manage to stay awake. All i remember...
It was the middle of the night. Nero was walking towards the school. He had an emotionless look on his face as he walked forward. When he stepped onto school grounds, he felt an immense amount of bloodlust.
"Could this be an apparition? Or even one of the Seven Mysteries?"
As Nero was contemplating, Shiki was behind the school gates. He took off his glasses as his eyes began to change once more.

With incredible speed, Shiki disappeared. As Nero was about to leave, one of his beasts emerged from his back. It was a pitch black wolf. Suddenly its entire body escaped from Nero's body. As it tries to bite Shiki, the boy used his knife to keep the wolf's jaw open but the wolf had enough strength to pin him down.
Soon Shiki cuts the top part of the wolf's head off. As the head fell on the ground, the rest of the beasts body turned into a black liquid and held Shiki down by his legs.
"What the hell is this?!"
"Unfortunately for you, surprise attacks won't work on me. If anything enters my territory, even if i don't notice it, the beasts will respond and intercept accordingly."
Nero turned around and saw Shiki. When he looked at Shiki's eyes, he felt a cold chill circulating throughout his body. He could tell Shiki was nothing like the boy he fought yesterday.
Nero then sent multiple beasts at Shiki. A wolf, alligator, and tiger emerged from his body as they all charged at the boy. Shiki quickly sliced apart the beasts with his knife.
Soon he jumped back as a hawk tries to scratch his face with its talon. However, as he looked down, he saw that his leg was caught in a formless black mud.
"What the hell?"
A crow suddenly clawed Shiki's hand while he was distracted by the trap Nero had set up. Shiki quickly used his right hand that held the knife to cut off the crow's head. He soon looked at his left hand as it bleeding from the wound he received.
"Leave this school monster! I won't let you get away with what you've done!!!"
"What was that boy? You want me to leave this place, yet you've come alone thinking you can do the job....your arrogance has ruined my good mood. But you are the meal i was searching for, so i'll make your death slow and painful."
Shiki growled in annoyance. As he looked at the formless mud that covered his leg, he saw a line on it. Deciding to go with his instincts, he strikes the line with his knife and the mud was fading away as a result. Seeing this, Nero sent a horde of his beasts at Shiki.

"I can't go head to head against him. I have to find a way to kill him."
Shiki charged forward as the beasts were getting closer. One beast was a tiger and it lunged towards the boy. Shiki cuts the lines of death on its legs as he pushed forward. However, another beast that has the form of a stingray flew at him. Shiki dodged it in time, but suddenly the tiger that had its legs chopped off bit onto Shiki's leg.
"Dammit!!!"
Shiki quickly cuts the tiger's head off with his knife. As he looks ahead he sees other beasts charging straight at him. He quickly jumped back and puts all his strength into his legs. He leaps forward as he slices multiple beasts with his knife.
"Slice! Advance! Slice!! Advance!!!!"
Shiki grew closer and closer to Nero. He was ready to cut the lines of death he saw on the man's body. However, Shiki suddenly stopped in his tracks. He felt a sharp pain in his gut as he coughed up blood. When he looked down, he saw a beast emerging from the shapeless mud as it stabbed him with its antlers.

The beast lifts its head, which lifts Shiki in the air. As Nero looked at the boy, he began to speak what was on his mind.
"Let's make a deal. You will be digested alive. Little by little as if you are melting. This will let you stay alive a little longer than if i just murdered you here and now."
The beast that held Shiki soon flung the boy's body off of its antlers. The boy landed on the ground with a large thud as he coughs up more blood. The beasts soon start to gather around Shiki as they were ready to feast upon him.
As Shiki was lying on the ground, he eyes started to look lifeless. There he was, lying on the ground. Couldn't even beat the person who harmed his friends. Though while normal humans would think about how much pain they're in or how scared they are. Shiki was only thinking of one thing.
