Chapter 20

Ricky's birthday was coming up. I wanted to make it the best day ever for him. I was not sure what I could do for a man who had it all.

Maybe I could host a party while we were on the road for him. I did not want him to know about the surprise.

Elvis walks past me.

"Hey" I greet him.

"What is on your mind?" he asks me.

I smile. "Ricky's birthday is coming soon. I want to get him something special or do something. He made my birthday really special" I sigh. "What could I do?" I ask him.

"Rick's birthday is coming up huh?" he asks me.

I nod.

"We could throw a big birthday bash when we get to California. We will be doing a tv show! All of us could be in on it. All but Ricky" he laughs.

"Elvis you are a genius!" I giggle.

We hug. "That is a great idea" I say.

"And maybe you could sing Ricky a birthday song. One of his ballads. For his birthday only" he adds.

I laugh. "Me? Me sing? I can't carry a tune to save my life" I chuckle.

"Come on. I bet I can teach you how" he offers.

I shake my head. "No way" I scoff.

"Ricky would be surprised. He would love it" says Elvis with a wink.

I wince. "Fine. For Ricky. But I am not sure about this" I add.

"You can even pick the song" he says. "I bet you know all of Ricky's songs"

"By heart" I say with a blush.

"Alright. Go over songs. And pick what one you want to sing to him. It will be your big debut" he jokes.

"One and a lifetime only debut" I tease. "this is a really great idea though"

"What is that idea?" Ricky asks as he comes over here joining us.
