"Happy birthday baby!" Ricky coos in my earlobe as he nibbles kisses on my neck.
I wake to find him holding a simple cupcake with a candle on it at our motel room. He smiles at me. It was my birthday.
How he knew I did not have a clue. I was shocked he knew what day it was. I was trying to keep it a secret because I did not want a big hoopla about my birthday. I knew Ricky would make a fuss about it.
Then Elvis would etc.

"How did you know that it was my birthday?" I stammer. "I never told you" I giggle.
"Well back when we were at the one bar you handed me your id when you were getting carded. I noticed someone was having a birthday" he tells me. He smiles. "I also could not forget all the birthdays we shared when I was dating Avery. I performed at one of your parties" he reminds me.
I blush. "It was my sweet sixteen party. You came and sang. That was when you were coming out as a singer. And you sang on the show. I would never forget that. All the girls were so jealous of me having you at my party. I was the living envy" I joke.
He laughs as he kisses me on the neck. "Blow out your candle. Make a wish" he orders to me.
I nod. I close my eyes make a wish then blow out my candle. I go to make a wish. Then I open my eyes back up. I smile as I lean in kissing Ricky on the lips.

"Thank you, baby," I tell him.
"You are so welcome honey" he answers me.
As I kiss him again, I forget I am holding the cupcake. I get frosting on the side of my hand. I groan and then laugh as Ricky kisses me. He smiles at me. I lick the frosting off my hand. It was strawberries and cream! My favorite.
