"You know, I haven't had a girlfriend in a long time." There was a casual tone to Kuroo's comment. Currently, the two teams, Nekoma and Karasuno, were taking a break from practicing. He stood next to me with his hand on his hip and his other wiping away his sweat.
Kenma looked unamused as he said in a monotone voice, "You never had a girlfriend before." He took a seat on the floor, next to me.
I leaned my head on his shoulder as I glanced up at Kuroo. "Yeah? You know what, me either," I replied casually. Kuroo did a double take, looking at me in disbelief. "You think either of the Karasuno managers are single?" I teasingly scooted my way to them until Kuroo took hold of my wrist and pulled me up back to him. His sweat soaked the back of my shirt, causing me make an uncomfortable expression.
"Okay, okay. Let's not get too hasty here," he said with a slight panic tone to his voice.
I laughed and pushed myself off him. "Whatever you say, but I do have to talk to Kiyoko."
"O ho ho ho, no you don't. Not after what you said," Kuroo argued as he hoisted me up over his shoulder. "Hey, Kenma. We'll be right back." He called out over his shoulder as he carried me out of the gym.
I watched unnervingly as he exited the gym. "We're in the middle of a joint practice, you dork."
"It'll be quick." He set me down and took my hand in his, leading me to a little shop close by. He bought three drinks and gave me one.
I thanked him and took a sip as we walked back. "If you were thirsty, I could've got these for you so you wouldn't have to miss more than you should."
He shrugged and drank one of the other two he bought. "I just wanted to spend some alone time with you."
We walked in silence for a moment then I looked up at him in the corner of my eye. "What's your angle here?"
He laughed and slung an arm over my shoulders. "What do you mean? Can't friends just hang out?"
"Friends don't kiss their friends," I commented, referring to our little date over the weekend. Or whatever you would like to call it.
"What's wrong with friends kissing?"
"It sends mixed signals. Do yourself a favor and take mixed signals as a no," I casually replied back, sticking my chin up a little in the air.
"Hmm..." He trailed off as if to think about what I said. "Let's see what Frosted Tips got to say." He pulled out his phone, after handing me Kenma's drink, and called Bokuto. I watched, slightly interested in what input he would offer. Bokuto answered with his infamous "HEY HEY HEY" right away. "Oi, is it okay for friends to kiss?"
"Uh... Well what's wrong with it?" he responded confused.
Kuroo turned the screen towards me and said, "see?" I rolled my eyes and looked at Bokuto with a boyish grin on his face. "I got another question though." He turned his attention towards me.
"Yes daddy?" I teased. If they think kisses should be something casual between friends, then pet names could be thrown in the bunch. Two can play this game.
He looked down at me, surprised at my sudden boldness. He had a big goofy ass grin on his face as he chuckled. "Uh... Okay, so would you kiss me for a ten thousand and nine fifty six yen or kiss the hottest guy you know for seventy six thousand six ninety seven yen?
I chewed on the boba thoughtfully and shrugged, "Easy."
"Oya?"
"Oya, oya?" Bokuto piped in from the facetime call.
