"Kenma!" I shouted out to catch his attention. He glanced up from his phone to show that he acknowledged my presence. "There's this new girl in my class."

"Oh right, I heard that during practice," he replied monotonically. His fingers tapped furiously against the screen of his phone making me glance over to see what he was so busy with. "There's a new girl in Lev's class too, I think they're sisters."

"Really?" I asked him, my interest peaking. I wondered why they were transferring in the middle of the first term.

He looked up from his phone to look at me curiously. "Why're you bringing this up?"

"Oh." I paused and thought about why I brought it up to him. "Uhh... Well she sits in front of me and I just thought that I wanted to get to know her."

"Well, why don't you?" He asked. I scratched the back of my head and shrugged. "This girl... What makes her different from the rest that's got you all timid?"

"I don't know, man. She's like... Different. I can't really place my finger on it."

He turned his attention back to his phone, tapping his fingers lightly. "Just talk to her, don't make it harder than it should."

"Bro! I would if I could! She doesn't really talk to anyone anyway. It's like... It's not that she seems shy or anything; just a little unapproachable."

I thought about the conversation I had with Kenma about the first day Aiko came into my life as I stopped walking. Lately, I've been reflecting my thoughts and feelings with Aiko and I couldn't really make sense of it. I never really felt like this before; there haven't been many important things in my life so far. My family, friends, school, and volleyball. That's about it. I felt like I had my hands full just juggling all of that, but that's changed since I met her. It was by chance that we started talking the way we did, but everything does have a reason. The more that I spend time with her, the more I want to learn more about her. I want to know about why she kept everyone at an arm's length, how she grew up, what makes her laugh, what makes her sad, why her eyes show deep sadness when she's unguarded... I watched as she squatted down, looking longingly at the rows of lanterns placed on the grass. Her face glowed in the soft lantern light, her violet eyes wore a deep sadness to them as she stared into the lantern in front of her.

Her eyes flickered up to my direction, noticing that I was blatantly staring at her. She stood back up and dusted her clothes off. "What're you looking at, Kuroo-ster?"

"You," I stated, unashamed.

A light flush dusted over her cheeks as she rolled her eyes at me causing me to chuckle at her. "I don't see why."

"Hey, I got you something earlier," I said, changing the subject.

"Why?"

I shrugged and pulled out a little box that contained a necklace I saw while I was window shopping with Kenma earlier. "I thought that it'd look good on you, so why not? A pretty necklace for a pretty girl."

She raised an eyebrow at me. Her curious expression glowed against the dim lantern light. "Say, Kuroo. Are you falling for me?"

I was taken back at her sudden suggestion. I scoffed and turned my face away from her direction to try and hide my heated face. I scratched the back of my head, huffing out, "Don't be so arrogant. I just thought that it would be a nice gift to give a friend."

She laughed and patted my arm. "I'm just joking, Kuroo. Thank you for the nice gift."

I took the necklace out of the box and told her to turn around and lift her hair. She begrudgingly did what I asked and I carefully clasped the necklace around her neck. She let her hair drop as she turned back around. I admired how the necklace twinkled against her skin. "You're welcome, cutie." I leaned over and kissed the corner of her lips.
