Kim Yujin, sophomore at Seugri High School, was currently running after the bus she barely missed.
"Please wait! 'SIR!" she yelled running after the vehicule, it's occupants laughing at the sight.
The bus slowly came to a halt and it's doors opened. Yujin climbed on under the driver's disappointed gaze. She quickly payed and scurried to the back of the bus, embarrassed.
While firmly grasping the bar above her head, the girl lightly hunched over, trying to regain her breath.
She had ran all the way from the local public cafeteria to the bus stop. Although a 5 minute sprint used to have no impact on her, her cardio had deteriorated since her middle school days as all she did now was study and work, unmovingly.
Straightening back up, she bumped into her classmate's backpack behind her. "Ah, sorry, Yujin, I didn't see you there!" Kangjoo apologized in her usual over enthusiastic tone.
Yujin forced a smile to her lips, "No worries!"
"Lollipop?" she asked, handing her a candy identical to the one residing between her lips.
"Thanks," Yujin said with a small nod, not able to refuse any food handed to her.
She was about to grab the the candy from the girl's hand when they were pushed by three rowdy boys, Oh Jungho, Lee Jihoon and Lee Yikyung, the school bullies.
Yujin let out a sad sigh as she picked up the shattered sweet from the ground. Not minding the state of the candy, she opened the wrapper and placed a crystal-like shard in her mouth, smiling at the taste.
Yikyung saw her reaction and said, "Are you really that happy because of a lollipop?"
She simply nodded, as she was too focused on enjoying the food. She held out her hand with the broken candy in his direction as if to say, "Want some?"
