Ninety percent of all human wisdom is the ability to mind your own business.
– Robert A. Heinlein
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────"Yujin, Teacher Jung wants to see you," Gideok singsonged as he entered the classroom.
The said girl stood to her feet and made her way to the office. She already knew what this was about. After all, what else could she be interested in?
"Teach, you wanted to see me?"
"Yes, Yujin, I heard you told the History teacher the President and Vice-President were absent because of class duties. It was a lie, wasn't it? Something's happened in the classroom, right?"
"Will something change if I tell you the truth?"
"Will you act just like Kangjoo and Gideok? They both refused to tell me what's going on. How am I supposed to help if I don't even know what's happening?"
"Exactly. How could you help them when you can't even figure out what's happening in your own classroom? Teach, you won't be able to have a positive impact, it's the type of situation that Hakyung must face on her own. If she doesn't, then it'll keep happening behind your back."
Teacher Jung sighed. "Please, please just tell me. You never know, I might be able to help."
It was Yujin's turn to sigh. "Hakyung is being bullied because of the whole 'Kang Sechan Institute' fiasco. They say she's a liar and a swindler and.. I mean.. it's not a lie. Hakyung needs to own her choices. If she doesn't, then people will keep stepping all over her."
"Your friend is hurt and all you say to her is she has to be strong? Yujin, it's okay to be vulnerable and ask for help."
"No, it's not. Not in this world at least. If you aren't strong, you are weak. You should know that better than anyone, Teach. You try so hard to be strong, don't you?"
Those words shocked Teacher Jung. It was the second time she'd heard them. First it was Jungho, now Yujin? Was she really so pitiful that her students could see right through her?
"R-right," Teacher Jung quickly said, trying not to show the impact these words had on her.
"What about Namsoon?"
"I don't know, honestly. But he skipped with Hakyung, I saw them together, he's probably comforting her or something," Yujin lied, not wishing to mention the bad blood between him and Heungsoo. "Can I please leave now?"
"Yes, of course, thank you."
Yujin trudged back to class, not feeling too excited to do so. The atmosphere in the room was too thick, the tension, too much. "At least Nari and Hyesun didn't fight," she thought, trying to reassure herself.
