The first thing I noticed when my eyes slowly slid open was the searing pain of my forehead that seemed to have a heartbeat of its own.
Looking around, I realized that I had fallen off of the path.
No one would've even realized I was here if they passed.
Groaning, I gingerly rolled over, and attempted to stand up.
I was instantly reminded of my sprained ankle as pain shot up through my leg.
Great... just great.
I carefully pulled in my leg to take a quick look at it.
It hadn't swollen too much, so I probably hadn't been out for too long.
I should probably stabilize it...
Looking down at my clothes, I decided to sacrifice the bottom edge of my t-shirt.
Holding the fabric tight between my hands, I used my teeth to help tear upwards.
Oops. Too far. It's alright— this shirt will be dead afterwards regardless.
I tore off two strips, but the earlier rip still travelled up to just below the top of my rib cage.
My shirt now ended a couple centimetres above my bellybutton. I wasn't sure how I felt about that.
It's just a crop top...
That leaves your scar on complete display.
I sighed.
Fantastic.
I took off my shoe, and wrapped the strips around my foot, alternating between loops around my ankle and loops around the arch of my foot.
I tied it off, and cautiously stood up, wincing slightly as I did so.
Hopefully I'll be able to ice it sooner rather than later. But right now... there are bigger issues at hand.
I began half-jogging-half-limping down the path, continually urging myself to run faster.
'Everyone in Class A and Class B! In the name of the pro hero, Eraser Head, you are granted permission to engage in combat! I repeat! Everyone in Class A and Class B! You are granted permission to engage in combat!'
I heard Mandalay's voice in my head.
What's going on?
I ran a little faster.
'We have discovered one of the villains' targets. It is one of the students: Kacchan! Kacchan should try to avoid combat and acting independently. Understand, Kacchan?!
I heard a yell from behind me, and I stopped, turning around.
"Bakugo?!"
"(L/N)?!"
"Y-yeah!"
Todoroki and Bakugo caught up to me. Todoroki was carrying a student from Class B on his back.
"Watch out!"
I turned in surprise, to see a wall of ice blocking sharp bars of jaggedly curved metal.
"Don't go rushing carelessly into anything."
"I have to follow... I have to do my job..." An odd, moaning voice cried.
Man, that's creepy.
"Did you hear that earlier? She said you're being targeted!"
"That's right, Bakugo."
