The next morning, Zoe goes to check on Paul. He's still unconscious. Zoe takes the blanket, but leaves the pillow. She then takes the washcloth off of Paul's forehead and wets it again. Afterwards, she starts wiping his face with the cloth. She did this for about three minutes, and eventually puts the cloth back in the bathroom. After that, Zoe goes back down to Paul, bends down to his level, and cradles him into her arms as she stroked his hair gently. "Paulie, I'm here, baby. You're gonna be okay." She whispered.

Suddenly, Zoe saw something that made her smile. Paul began to open his eyes. They were a little heavy, so it took a few minutes. Zoe gently strokes Paul's chest. "Come on, honey! You can do it!" She said excitedly but quietly. After five minutes, Paul finally opened his eyes. "Who... who's there?" He asked weakly. "Paul, it's me, Zoe." Said Zoe. "Zoe?" Said Paul. Zoe nods. "Yes, darling." She said. A huge smile appears on Paul's face. "Zoe!!" He said excitedly. Paul wraps Zoe into a tight hug and she hugs him back. Tears fall down both of their faces.

"Oh, Paul! I thought you'd never remember me again! It's so good to have you back!" Zoe said excitedly. "I thought I'd never see you again!" Paul said through his tears. "I've always been here, Paulie. You just lost your memory." Said Zoe. The embrace breaks up after a while. "What?! You mean, I acted like I didn't know my own girlfriend?!" Asked Paul in shock. "You did. Apparently, the accident messed up your brain, and you woke up after being in a coma for a month with amnesia." Zoe said. "Oh dear." Paul said as he hung his head shamefully.

Zoe puts her hand under Paul's chin and lifts his head. "Paul, it's not your fault. You knew you had a girlfriend, you just didn't recognize me." Said Zoe. "I'm so ashamed of myself." Said Paul as he cried some more. "Sweetheart, that was amnesiac Paul talking. It wasn't the real you. Now that you're back, you don't have anything to worry about." Said Zoe. "Are you sure?" Paul asked. "I'm positive, hon." Zoe said.

"How did I get my memory back?" Asked Paul. "You broke into a violent coughing fit and collapsed onto the floor yesterday." Said Zoe. "I must've bumped my head in the process." Paul said. "You did, sweetheart. You were also unconscious for the whole day." Zoe said. "I was?" Asked Paul. "You certainly were. I had a feeling it was because you were dehydrated. You haven't been drinking any water since you got home from the hospital." Said Zoe. "Goodness! That's so unlike me!" Paul said. "I gave you some water while you were passed out on the floor, so you're fine now." Zoe said.

The two hug again, but longer. "I love you, Zoe." Said Paul. Zoe smiled as she heard the three words she'd been waiting for Paul to say for a month. "I love you too, Paul." Said Zoe. She and Paul lean in and kiss for the first time in a month.

Later That Day

Paul and Zoe decided to go on a celebration date in honor of Paul regaining his memory. It'll be taking place in a beautiful garden that Zoe passed many times. She said she always wanted to go there, and promised Paul she'd take him with her. Right about now, Zoe is picking out what dress to wear and what shoes will match. She finds the perfect ones eventually.
