Zoe arrives back at the hospital the next day and makes her way over to Paul's room. When she walked in, she's greeted by a kind nurse. "Ah, you must be Zoe Henderson! We've been expecting you." She said. "Really?" Asked Zoe with an eyebrow raised. "Walk over to your boyfriend's bed, and you'll see. Something exciting is happening." Said the nurse.
A huge smile appears on Zoe's face. She walks over to Paul's bed and sees his head moving slowly. The air mask he had on the last time was off. Zoe could feel her excitement overflowing, as she notices what's about to happen. "Come on, Paulie! You can do it!" Zoe said excitedly. In a matter of minutes, Paul opened his eyes. "Oh my gosh, Paul, you're awake!! I'm so happy!!!" Said Zoe excitedly.
Paul sits up and rubs his eyes. Zoe was about to hug him, but the nurse stopped her. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, Zoe! Easy!" She said. "What's wrong?" Zoe asked. "He's just woken up, and you might wanna give him some room to breathe." The nurse said. "Oh, sorry." Said Zoe. "It's okay. Now, we're gonna keep him here overnight so he can have some time to recover. Tomorrow morning, he's free to go home." Said the nurse. "Fantastic! I'll drive him home when I get here tomorrow. He lives with me, by the way." Zoe said. "Very good." The nurse said.
Zoe turns her attention back to Paul. "Okay, Paulie, I'll come back tomorrow and drive you home. See you then, sweetheart." She said. Zoe kisses Paul on his cheek. Surprisingly, he didn't look at her, nor did he say anything. Zoe decided to let him be and exits the room.
Paul's P.O.V.
The nurse approached Paul and he turns towards her. "Nice to see you finally awake, Mr. McCartney." She said. "Thanks, but where's my girlfriend?" Asked Paul. "She was just here. Didn't you notice her?" Asked the nurse. "No." Paul said. "Doctor!" The nurse called.
The doctor came over a minute later. "Yes, Nurse?" He asked. "Something seems to be wrong with Mr. McCartney. He just got out of his coma, but there's a wee bit of a problem." Said the nurse. "Okay, let's take a look." Said the doctor.
A quick examination took place. After a while, the doctor had all the answers. "It appears that Mr. McCartney has amnesia. The accident was pretty massive, and he bumped his head really hard. I fear he won't remember his own girlfriend." He said. "Or that he even has a girlfriend." The nurse said.
"Zoe! Where's my Zoe?!" Paul asked worriedly. "She was here earlier, Mr. McCartney." The doctor said. "If you didn't notice her, did you at least hear her?" Asked the nurse. "No." Said Paul. "She'll be here tomorrow to bring you home." Said the doctor. "Thank goodness!" Paul said in relief.
Zoe's P.O.V.
Right about now, Zoe is in her room listening to another Beatles record. This time, she has on Help! The first seven songs were played in the movie. A little while later, one song made Zoe sing along.
