Could She Be Mrs Alfredo

chapter 4

                             Katelyn's pov
I said my last thank you and a goodbye to Mr Alfredo my soon to be boss, I am still in shock that I finally have a job and I don't have to go to anymore interviews, with a happy smile on my face I walked into the elevator. I am feeling much better than I have felt in days maybe even weeks or years one would say a weight has been lifted off my shoulders which is understandable because I have been stressing about having a job also my health is not at its best right now but I am trying my hardest to stay alive it's only me in the world taking care of me so life has not been so easy for me after I woke up in that hospital 5 years ago with no name, family or memory.
As the doors to the elevator opened I stepped out ready to go back home for a much needed rest
"Katelyn... Hey katelyn"a voice called out my name
I turned around and came face to face with the receptionist from earlier today
"Ohh hey katelyn....is there a problem"I asked confused
"Ohh no dear I just want to see is you are ohk... You see the thing is Mr Alfredo called earlier for doctor D after you went up for your interview so I was wondering if there was a problem"she said in haste with a worried expression on her face
"Ehmm... No no not at all, I just blacked out for awhile but am good now" I said
"Oh dear are you sure you alright"
"Yes Katelyn am alright thanks for asking" I replied with a smile because it was comforting having someone worry about me after so long
"Am glad dear... did you ehm did u get the job after that" she asked
"Yes I did luckily "I said with a smile on my face
"That's great Katelyn I am happy for you, now you should go rest you look a bit disoriented dear"
"I will Katelyn thank you, I'll see you tomorrow morning hey"I said sweetly
"You welcome mon amie (my friend) see you tomorrow" she called out as I walked towards the exit of the building. Pulling out my phone i tapped my music app to play  music as I walked back to my apartment

Next day

I woke up earlier than I would like but then again I have insomnia it's normal I guess
Before going into the bathroom I grab my phone to play perfect by Ed Sheeran, yes I know another love song yet no love life but i am a fan of music any genre actually but mostly romantic songs.
After my usual morning routine, I walk to the bedroom to get ready I chose my trusty black dress pants, grey sweater and black shoes as my outfit of choice today, since this a new start for me I decided to straighten my hair while singing along with Ed Sheeran that was on repeat.
"Now Katelyn you look decent and if I may say you need a haircut, your hair is a bit longer than I like" I said to myself
One last glance at my reflection in my bedroom mirror with a satisfied smile I took my phone, side bag, earphones and walked to the kitchen.
On my way back yesterday I stopped at the convenience store to purchase milk, cereal and bread for my breakfasts I don't want to repeat the incident of yesterday again today so I need to force myself to keep my food down.
After my mini breakfast I checked that everything was switched off and all doors locked properly before leaving my apartment, the walk to my new workplace was about 45 minutes and yes I was on time actually I was 15 minutes earlier.
"Morning Miss Katelyn" I said
"Ohh now now it's just Katelyn to you mon amie good morning dear" she replied with a huge smile
"Am sorry Katelyn" I said blushing a bit
"It's alright dear hope you are feeling better because today will be a long day" she says
"Am well rested thanks for asking and am more than ready for the job"I said excitedly
"Well am happy for you but don't push yourself.. now run along before Mr Alfredo come in" she says while waving me into the elevator, just as it was about to close a hand stops it and in walks my boss Mr Blake Alfredo.
"G... good morning Mr Alfredo" I stutter a bit while speaking
"Good morning Miss Hill I hope you are feeling much better today" he asks
"Yes sir thanks for asking, and once again I apologise for the inconvenience yesterday"
"No problem Miss Hill anyone in my position would have done the same" he says giving me a small smile, I nod at his words turning my foucs to the elevator door while we wait for it to take us to the 35th floor. The elevator door opens after few mintues not sure who would exit it first I waited
"After you Miss Hill " my boss says with a stoic look on his face
"O... of course sir thanks" I mumbled as we both walked into his office, first day of work and am excited and nervous at the same time I hope this day goes well fingers crossed.
