chapter 13

Katelyn's pov

Through out Sunday I rested, ate and watched TV nothing special, I just wanted to be on my own so I could adjust to my new environment I was grateful that Katelyn respected my choice and left me alone yesterday.

I was currently eating breakfast while waiting for Katelyn to pick me up. We both decided it was better to go to work together and I am totally cool with that  by the way I have warmed up to katelyn, she is very comfortable to be around although she has a loud personality I don't mind because she is the first person in 5 years to make an effort to want to be my friend and for that I am grateful.

*Doorbell rings*

I grabbed my black hand bag, a bottle of water and an apple before leaving my apartment

"Morning dear, don't you look cute and refreshed" Katelyn says hugging me

"Morning Katelyn, thanks" I said giggling rolling my eyes at  Katelyn's expresions

"Fiona asked about you yesterday, she was a bit sad that she could not see you yesterday" Katelyn says as we make our way towards the elevator

"Oh my, I'll make it up to her" I said"I just really needed to be on my own yesterday, everything happened so fast not that am not grateful or anything but I needed alone time" I concluded

"No problem mon amie I understand how you feel, no one is pushing you to do anything"she says stepping into the elevator "am here if you need anything" squeezing my shoulder for reassurance.

"Thanks Katelyn, you are really nice to me and I don't know why but I am really grateful" i said wiping a lone tear that was about to escape my eyes

"Ohh mon amie don't cry I know how it feels to not have anyone" she says hugging me tight which I responded to " by the way we are friends, friends are supposed to be there for each other" she says tightening her hold on me before the lifts opens up and we walk into the parking lot.

Blake's pov

"Daddy can I come to your office after school, I promise I will not disturb you" Fiona says from the back seat.

"As long as you don't disturb me, I'll tell Drew to get you" I said once we reached her school

"Alright daddy, see you later love you" she quickly runs out of the car

Of course she didn't go far before I scooped her in my arms"now don't forget I said i want to meet the Jake you spoke of on Saturday young lady" I said pinching her cheek slightly.

"Daddy put me down people are watching, and i don't know where he is" she says blushing am not sure if she is embarrassed or if she's blushing because she was thinking of Jake

"Hi Fiona" a boy with cute glasses around her age says beside me

"H...hi Jake" she replied hiding her face in my neck to hide the blush that was growing by the minute

"So you are Jake" I said with a frown putting Fiona down

"Yes sir and am sure you are Fiona's dad" he says stretching out his hand to shake mine"she speaks highly of you sir" he concludes after I shock his hand

"Ohh really now"i look at Fiona who was blushing even more"good to know I don't embarrass you doll"

"Daddy I'm a big girl don't call me that"

"You will be a big girl when I say you are Fifi" I say laughing

"I'll meet you inside Fiona"the Jake boy says to her"goodbye Mr Alfredo, it was nice meeting you" turning to me to wave before walking off

"Goodbye baby, I'll see you later love you" I said kissing her forehead

"Goodbye daddy, love you to the moon and back" giving me a quick hug she runs off

I don't like her friendship with that Jake boy but for now I'll let it slide for now, I got into my car driving straight to work.

Katelyn's pov

I was currently responding to important emails sent to my boss over the weekend, it was almost lunch time and I was waiting for Katelyn so we could have lunch together in my office.

"Knock knock lunch delivery" Katelyn says walking into my office

"Thank goodness, I was starving" I say with a huge smile

"That what you get for not having a proper breakfast"

" I did eat breakfast Katie, I'm still getting used to it slowly but at least am eating regularly"

"If you lived with me I would force you to eat so you can gain more strength"

"Katelyn now I see you want me to become fat" I threw her a pen, which she douged easily

"Anyway I got you the sandwiches from last week, so eat up" she says passing me my chicken caprese sandwich.

We eat our food while watching funny videos on YouTube, one video makes me laugh so much I choked on my bread and instead of my so called friend helping me out she just laughed even more.

" Why so much laughing, care to share the joke" drew says walking into my office, which suddenly feels crowded

"Ohh it's nothing Drew" Katelyn cuts in

"You say that but I could hear your laughs while I was chatting to Blake"

"We were just watching videos Drew" I say after calming down from choking

"I see just don't let Blake find out"

"He won't do anything, it's our lunch break" she says a little too loud and am sure my boss heard her.

"Enjoy your food ladies, and try not to choke with all your laughing" drew says before leaving making katelyn laugh again because I just chocked few minutes ago.

We finish the rest of our food still watching videos trying not to laugh so loud, I was really having fun with Katelyn now I know how it feels to have a friend.

"Mon amie this was one of my best lunches, thanks for spending time with me"

"Likewise Katelyn, now leave so I can continue my work I don't want to get yelled out" I say shushing her out after we hug briefly.

The rest of my day went well I spent some time with Fiona when she came to the office, once it was time to leave Fiona, Katelyn and I left the office together because Mr Alfredo was still busy working.
