"So..." I whispered to Malik, looking up into his eyes.
He stared back at me, admiring my face.
"What do you wanna do now?" I asked.
"I'm wide awake so I'm up for anything," I smiled at him.
He smiled back at me, and then sat up, pulling himself away from me.
I whined, wanting him back next to me, and he chuckled quietly.
"Now, you might find this surprising," Malik started, walking over to the tv stand on the opposite side of the room.
He picked up the remote, turning the tv on. He immediantly muted it, seeing that the news popped up.
We both gasped as we read the headlines.
"THOUSANDS OF PROTESTS ERRUPT AROUND THE COUNTRY- NO STATE IS SAFE"
Videos of protestors shouting and screaming at police were shown, one after another. Malik and I looked at each other, and smiled.
This movement is getting attention, finally, I said to myself, filled with hope.
"Well, that's amazing to hear, huh?" Malik said to me, walking back over to the bed.
I nodded as he collapsed in my arms. He's such a baby when he's not around others, I said to myself, giggling.
"But back to what I was saying, if you dont mind,"
I nodded to him.
"I really like anime, so we're gonna watch some," Malik stated rather quickly, as he brought up Netflix on the tv.
I gasped.
"WHAAT?!" I whisper-yelled at him.
Malik's eyes were full of fear, worried that I would hate on him for watching anime.
"How could you never tell me?!" I said, smiling at him.
Malik looked confused, and tilited his head, his dreadlocks swinging to the side.
"I love anime too," I stated. "What's your favorite?" I asked, as Malik's face lit up.
"W-Well I really like sports anime.." He started, ovbviously shy.
I giggled at him, and he only blushed more.
"I think "Haikyu!!" is my favorite," Malik spoke, searching Netflix for an anime to watch.
I tilted my head, trying to think of the anime. hmm, I don't reccognize it.. have I never watched it before? I thought.
"I don't think I've ever watched that anime before," I told Malik, repositioning myself so I could look him in the eyes.
His eyes shot wide open, surprised. He then chuckled and smirked at me, pressing buttons on the remote.
"I know what we're gonna watch then,"

*An Hour Later*
I gasped at the screen for the 400th time.
