====================

"You are to become one of us."

My jaw dropped. Part of them? I'm no hacker... I thought to myself. I want to go out to the people and protest, not sit in my room and buy clothing off of the president's credit card.

I stared into the woman's eyes as she waited for my response. I shook my head, speechless. She tilted her head, and pulled her outreached arm back to her side. She clenched the bandana tightly in her hand. She quickly turned around, her beautiful red wavy hair whipping around with her.

"Fine. We'll see how you like it when we leave you on the side of a random road in the middle of the night, begging for us to take you back," She huffed, twirling her hair with her pointer finger.

My eyes widened. "No! Please! I'll do anything! Please don't just dump me off somewhere! I have friends, family that are worried about me! Please..." I blurted out.

I felt tears rising up in the back of my throat. I pushed them away. I have to be strong. I want to see my family, my friends again. I have to do this. Even if it means I'll never see Mama ever again... I felt more tears condensating in my eyes, and I begged my body to keep them in. The image of my mother crying at my funeral sent shivers down my spine. I let a singular tear slip down my cheek. I immediantly wiped it and the thought of my mother away, and stood straight up.

All of a sudden, the man at the table stood up. His dreads swung side to side as he rushed over to me, seeing my distress. He kneeled in front of me, his mask looking up at me. I wondered what lied underneath. He took my hands that were covering my face, and covered them with his own hands. He rubbed his thumb over my fingers, sending shivers up my spine. While keeping his masked face towards me, he spoke in a rough, demanding tone.

"Fara, how dare you make a guest as beautiful as her unwelcome here," He spoke from the back of his throat, making everyone in the room feel intimidated by his prowess. Even Fara herself shivered, the man's husky voice cutting into her past words.

"Malik, how dare YOU question my authority," She snapped back, quickly reforming her steel wall of power.

The man, Malik, shook his head and stood up, letting go of my hand. He slowly walked back over to his chair at the table, crossing his arms and huffing. My hands still tingled from his warm and kind touch.

Fara sighed, and turned back around to me. "I guess I was a little out of control there, huh? I guess all this violence gets to my head sometimes..." She shrugged, and walked towards me, swaying her hips side to side. She took the bandana from her hands and slowly pulled it up to my face. I found myself eyeing her body as the black silk of her jumpsuit left little to the imagination.

I quickly took my eyes away from her body as she tied the bandana around my face, the soft fabric brushing against my cheeks. I could feel her warm breath through the mask, the heat clinging to my skin as she pulled away.
