From A Cave Into The Unknown

A Sickly Encounter

Maria woke up, her head throbbing with pain. She got up slowly and carefully, taking the support of the wall. There she was in the same room, full of small rocks and mud.
And she heard the sound that had woken her up. A shrill wail. She spun around, her heart hammering in her chest.

In front of her stood (atleast it looked like it was standing) a blue creature, with three white eyes on what looked like its head. It had green fangs all around its face, with a hole in the middle, probably its mouth. Its tail dripped with a gooey liquid.

Maria stared at it. She opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out. She felt as if she was glued to the ground.

The creature wailed again this time louder.

And Maria screamed. She backed away into a corner and grabbed a smalk rock from the floor, holding it in front of her.
The creature advanced, and Maria through the rock, as hard as she could, praying it would reach the creature.
It did. It hit the creature on its eye. Yellow liquid squirted out of its eye. It wailed and sprang at Maria.

Maria moved faster than she ever had.
She went around the creature, and picked up a sharp rock.
As soon as the creature turned, she threw the rock straight into its mouth. The creature choked and yellow liquid dripped dwon its throat.
Its blood, Maria realized.
Bile rose up in her throat. Her head started spinning and she fell to the ground. Not again, she thought dizzily and tried to get up.
The creature jumped and was on Maria before she could move.
Maria screamed again. The odour of the creature entered her nose and she threw up.

She saw the creature opening its mouth even wider, fangs sharpening around its head. She closed her eyes. She felt searing pain on her forehead and then it stopped.

She opened one eye. The creature was no longer on her.

She tried to get up, but the pain in her forehead increased. Her vision blurred.
She gasped and hit the floor and once again darkness surrounded her.
