From A Cave Into The Unknown

A Bliphon?

Maria stirred and opened her eyes. She had to blink several times before her eyes adjusted to the light. As her vision came into focus, she saw a figure bending over her.

"You're awake! How are you feeling?" It was a girl's voice. She smiled gently at Maria.

"Dreadful. It feels like someone's throwing rocks around inside my stomach." Maaria sat up, wincing.

Now that her eyes had adjusted to the light she could see the girl clearly. The girl had curly blonde hair that stopped below her ears. Her eyes were blue and had a mischievious glint. However, right now they shone with worry as she looked at her.
She was dressed in a plain white tshirt with 'I Am Who I Am. Deal With It' written in the middle and blue ripped jeans.
"Oh right, ofcourse! Sorry. Just a minute" the girl got up and hurried towards a table in the corner of the room.

The room was dark grey in colour and on the walls there were sketches of anime characters.The room looked like a room in a cosy little cottage.

Maria then realized she was sitting on a bed. The bed was soft. The sheets were made of silk and the blanket Maria was under was fluffy and had designs of robots all over it.

"Here. Eat this. It's a.... well a pain killer." The girl was holding out a small zip bag. It had a pink tablet inside it. Maria took it.

"Do i just eat this... or?.."

"Ya. Just pop it in your mouth" she said.
"Don't worry. It tastes like strawberries." She said, noticing Maria's hesitation.

Maria put the tablet in her mouth and her eyes widened as her mouth exploded with the sweet taste of strawberries.

The girl laughed. "Great isnt it?"
"Mmhmm" Maria replied still enjoying the sweet taste.
After she swallowed she looked up at the other girl.
"Thankyou. But who are you?"

The girl laughed. "Sorry! I'm Clair, Clair Vincent. I live here. Oh and are you sure thats the only question you have after all that happened?" The girl grinned showing pearly-white teeth.

These words brought back the memories of the creature she had encountered with such force that Maria thought she would faint. Again.

"Uh-no- i mean-" she paused. "What was that thing? And what was that place? And how did i end up there? I mean one minute i was in that cave and the next i was there in that-that room. How is that even possible? And- "

"Woah there ! Slow down! Too many questions." The girl-Clair- laughed. Maria was annoyed. Why did she laugh so much? Nothing seemed funny to her at the moment.
"But i want to know" she whined.

Clair laughed yet again. "Patience, grasshopper. One question at a time."

"Ok then. What was that creature?"
"That creature was a Fangtran Bliphon" Clair replied, examining her nails.

"A fang what" Maria asked, flabbergasted.

"A Fangtron Bliphon. It's a type of Bliphon." Clair said, looking at her.

"But what's a-a Bliphom?"

"Its Bliphon"

"Yes but-"

"Do you know what demons are?" Clair questioned her, narrowing her eyes at Maria.

"Yes! A demon is this imaginary... thing that hurts people or posses them or-"

"Wait up. Demon's are not imaginary. And they do not possess people." Clair said loftily.
"Wait wha- so that creature was a demon?" Asked Maria.

Clair laughed."No, silly! Demons dont exist!"

"Huh? But you just said-"

"I said they are not imaginary. Just because something isnt imaginary doesnt mean it isnt true. Demons , well they evolved. Some went extinct, while the rest evolved into Bliphons. They're much deadlier." She paused. "Though"she added almost as an afterthought "some are considerably much more stupid, like the creature you encountered today."
"That creature was stupid?"Maria was incredulous.

"Yes, comparitively. Fangtron Bliphons are quite dumb. Their sense of smell and their hearing is terrible. So if you chop all their three eyes off"( Maria winced) "they wont know what to do. Some tear theirselves apart when tnis happend. All they care about is flesh. They peel your skin off with their fangs and leave the rest of the body to rot." A picture of a bleeding body without skin flashed across Maria's eyes, making her shiver. "Ofcourse" Clair went on "there are many other Bliphons. Much deadlier. Much more horrifiying. Some even scare me."

Maria didnt know what to say to this. She asked another question."But what is this place? And how did i end up here?"

"Oh its still Earth. And to answer your other question, i have no idea. Humans" she said the word with a bit of contempt sending a wave of anger through Maria."cant come here. Only we can."

"And who is this we?" Spat Maria, angry at the contempt in Clair's voice.

"We are Parancis"she replied, not in the least bothered by Maria's tone. "Only we can come to this world" the contempt in her voice was stronger.

"There is nothing to be proud of! Its a terrible world, full of these Bliphons" screeched Maria, now fuming. Clair seemed to realize this.

"Oh!i'm sorry. I dont look down on humans. It's just.... i hate them. They're terrible. " Clair said, her voice devoid of any emotion. But when she looked up, Maria saw hatred and sorrow in her eyes. She decided not to say anything more.

"What're Parancis?" She asked, hesitating a little. She decided she liked the laughing Clair more than the sad and angry one.

"Parancis, we are citizens of this world. We are fighters. Well, you live in the same world as i do. And yet we live in different worlds." "What i mean is"she continued seeing Maria's confused expression,"there are things called portals. They take you to hidden worlds on the same planet. But not just anyone can pass through these. You can only enter a world where it is possible for you to belong. Actually, this world is quite beautiful if you dont count the Bliphoms. I'd like to show you around someday. Atleast around the campus" she said earnestly.

"Campus?" Maria asked, frowning.

"Oh i forgot to tell you! All of us, Parancis are in danger almost all the time. So we have this campus in which they teach us and train us. We all have to build our own houses because that makes us stronger. And no Bliphon can enter. So.... do u wanna exploreeee?" She asked raising her eyebrows and grinning.
