"Let me scent you."
Jasmine's mind flashed back to when she saw Jungkook scenting Jimin just earlier. It didn't seem that bad.
"Sure tiger, if it makes you feel better." Jungkook did it every time Jimin finished work so Jasmine didn't see an issue with Taehyung wanting to scent her.
Taehyung's eyes sparkled in excitement and a grin slowly made its way across his beautiful face. Jasmine blanched. Well if Taehyung was that happy about scenting her, she'll let him do it whenever he wanted!
"Just stand still for me, J." Taehyung pulled her close, moving her hair behind her shoulders. Then, he dipped his face closer to her throat, his breath ghosting over her. She shivered. Jasmine held her breath, waiting for Taehyung to move. She saw how Jungkook did it so she knew what to expe- Jasmine gasped as Taehyung swiped his nose and chin along the line of her throat. Goosebumps rose up along her arms. She had almost forgotten how sensitive her neck was.
Taehyung's cheek followed his chin, rubbing back and forth along the front of her throat before moving along either side of her neck. Jasmine clenched and unclenched her hands as she willed herself not to make a sound from all the sensations she was feeling. He rubbed his cheeks against her cheeks and jawline meticulously and then continued back down the expanse of her neck. When his nose brushed the spot under her ears, her eyes almost rolled back, a low noise escaping her. Taehyung paused for a second before nuzzling again into the spot under her ear experimentally. A soft moan slipped out from between Jasmine's lips before she could stop it. Taehyung growled lowly in response before pulling back completely. His eyes had taken on a more feline appearance, and his slitted pupils had dilated. His tail caressed the length of her leg lazily.
"Done." His husky voice washed over Jasmine, making her take a deep, shaky breath in. There it was again - that delicious smell that floated through the air, making her knees weak from the deep inhale she took. It made her head spin. She swallowed harshly and took a step back.
"Feel better now?" Jasmine was delighted to hear that her voice didn't tremble as she spoke to him, but instead sounded nice and clear and unaffected - completely opposite to how she was feeling inside.
"Better. You smell so good right now." Taehyung groaned, taking a deep breath in through his nose before backing away from her. Taehyung's scent was smothered all over Jasmine, removing any remaining trace of Jimin on her skin and he loved it. It was a statement to show the world that she belonged to him, even if it only lasted temporarily. His scent had blended with hers in the most mouthwateringly delectable way and every time he inhaled, heat seared straight through him. It was like a moth to a flame - dangerous. Taehyung knew that if he didn't back away from her when he did, he would have marked her pretty, delicate neck.
"That was definitely an... experience." Jasmine finished lamely. She was totally not prepared for what scenting had ensued. Her experience with Taehyung did not look anything at all like Jimin's and Jungkook's and she wasn't sure if they had done it wrong or not. She would need to ask Jimin. Taehyung was smiling to himself happily. He looked really pleased with himself and the situation.
"Tae, we need to talk about this. You can't get upset at Jimin for hugging me. He's my best friend and I'm my own person and people hug! It's normal." Jasmine chastised. She wanted Taehyung to be more understanding toward their friendship dynamic not get upset over it. She didn't like seeing Taehyung sad and she really didn't know what to do to make him happier, except maybe giving him blueberry muffins as a peace offering. But that wasn't healthy if it became a regular occurrence.
"Fine but only if I get to scent you every day." Taehyung retorted stubbornly. It was the only way he would agree. That way, he would able to claim Jasmine was his and ward off any other hybrids who tried to make a move on Jasmine. It was a shame that humans couldn't smell him on her. Jasmine pondered over his response.
"Alright, deal. You can't get upset if Jimin gives me an extra big hug then!" Jasmine sung teasingly. Taehyung's eyes slitted at her response but he nodded grumpily, accepting the loss and focusing on the prize.
"By the way, Tae. We need to have a talk."
"About what?" Jasmine hesitated at his response.
"Well... We've been living together for quite a while now and I really enjoy your company," Jasmine started, avoiding eye contact with the cat. "I've been thinking about it for a while now and I was wondering how you would feel about me adopting you... officially." She took a quick glance at Taehyung's face which was frozen in shock. Jasmine started panicking internally.
"I mean of course we don't have to do it if you don't want to! I know you don't feel comfortable with having an owner and it really won't make a difference whether I'm your owner or not. Forget what I said, I would be a terrible owner anyway, too much responsibility, you'd probably starve to death or something," Jasmine babbled. She didn't even know what she was saying at this point. Taehyung hushed her by taking a step toward her and sliding his fingers through hers. He peered deeply into her eyes and she knew he could see the dread present in its depths.
"I thought you would never ask." He breathed, making Jasmine freeze.
"Really? But I thought you didn't want an owner." Taehyung smiled softly at her unguarded appearance and stroked her hair gently.
"That's because they weren't you." Her heart fluttered at Taehyung's words and she couldn't help the wide grin that spread across her face. Jasmine flung her arms around Taehyung's neck and squeezed him tight.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! You don't know how much this means to me Taehyung!" Jasmine felt like she was floating. She finally felt that Taehyung had accepted her as his family completely and it was the best feeling in the world. Taehyung laughed in joy at her and squeezed her back just as tight.
"I'm just happy that you're happy, J." He whispered, resting his chin on her head. Jasmine sighed contentedly, just enjoying his embrace.
"You'll never have to worry about anything ever again. I'll take care of you, tiger. You'll never have to worry about food or wonder where you will sleep for the night again. I know you didn't have to worry about that for the past couple of months, but this really makes it official. I'm really happy that you trust me enough to be able to overcome your past trauma with humans. I'll never do anything to you that you don't want or anything that will harm you in any way, okay? You just have to tell me." Taehyung's heart warmed at her words. He knew all of this already but hearing it from her mouth was so different. It was concrete. His affection for her had deepened, and he could smell it in the air. Their mixed scent wafted thickly in the air, tantalizing his nostrils enticingly. A harsh shudder ran through him. Giving her one last squeeze, he pulled back and stepped away from Jasmine before he lost himself to his urges.
"Okay." He mumbled. Taehyung really didn't know what else to say. He felt like he would ruin the moment if he said anything further so he kept it simple. Jasmine didn't seem to mind, as she smiled back at him. She was surprised at how disappointed she felt from the loss of his warmth, but knew that Taehyung must have stepped away from her for a reason so she let it be.
"Shall we go tomorrow?"
