I watch beside Monty as the doctors bring in another bed that is placed beside Maya's bed. They attach another IV machine to Jasper once he finish changes into a medical gown— in a different room, of course. Jasper slips into the hospital bed and covers his lower chest with the thin white blanket.

He looks so warm, I'm jealous.

Two nurses place tubes and an IV into my new friend. The nurses do this as Dr. Tsing jots down on her clipboard Jasper's medical record while on the ground and in space, or the Ark, as the 47 call it.

"You sure about this?" Monty asks his best friend who, honestly, looks so comfortable in bed yet has a worried look on his face.

"Monty, look at her." Jasper, Monty and I look at our friend who's lies in bed unconscious. She covered in radiation burns from head to toe.

"I know you like her, but her blood is about to go into your body." Monty informs his best friend. The tone and harshness in Monty's voice and words make me grow uneasy and nauseous. I look away from Maya, unable to look at her burnt skin. I tuck my lips in feeling my lunch slowly crawl up my throat. I shake my head slowly before taking a deep breath and swallowing.

I let out a breath, that I didn't even know I was even holding in. Maya suddenly begins convulsing on her bed, shaking unconsciously. I look at her EKG as it beeps rapidly and loudly.

A single tear slides down my cheek from my emerald eyes, followed by another and another tear. Seeing Maya like this hurts me. She's such a strong person but it hurt to see her this weak. I quickly wipe away my tears before anyone is able to notice.

Eventually, Maya stops and Jasper begins the transfer of his blood to hers and her blood to his. Jasper begins to act off, his eyes slowly lose the widenedness of it. He squints as he looks around the room.

"It's perfectly normal." Dr. Tsing explains to Monty and I.

"If you've never done this before, how do you know?" Monty asks exposing Dr. Tsing. My eyes widen, did Lorelei lie to us? How could she? Why would she lie?

"You're right. I should've said, it's to be expected. This will take a while. Why don't you two head back to your room? I'll send for you once he's awake."

I may have possibly overreacted before.

Monty doesn't say anything. He raises his index fingers up before taking a seat on the white chair.

"Oh, okay. I guess I'm also joining him." I sit down on the chair beside Monty.

Monty brings his face close to mine. He turns his head to the side and brings his lips in front of my ear. "I know you've probably known her your whole life but I don't trust her. Also, why haven't you told them that you were in the dorms too? Why didn't you get those burns on you?"
