So! Here we are at chapter 2, don't worry, this is probably the last one that goes into a bit of depth about what the woman's corpse looks like 😅 Anyways, tell me what you think of the chapter, and if I made the mood change too quick, or if it was a good way to lead it in. (You'll see what I mean.)

Okie, enjoy!

||~Chapter 2~||

|~Seraphina~|

"Hurry up John."

My blue eyes stared down to the ravenette as he tied his shoe laces, one hand brushing over his gelled hair to make sure it was tame. He rolled his eyes at my demand, standing up after as he turned to the door. "Come on, it's not like it's an actual emergency, you really think Blyke would be speaking so calmly in that case?"

I couldn't picture it, and although he had a point, I shook my head stubbornly, opening the door to walk out of my dorm room. But for some reason, I couldn't help but have a terrible feeling at the back of my head.

What if something was wrong...?

I didn't dwell on it, hating the thought of compensating over the unknown. It wouldn't get me anywhere, so I might as well focus on the walk to wherever they were instead.

"Well I mean, they're in a forest, one of them could've gotten hurt." I tried to put the pieces together, but there were too many unknown variables. Who had been there? What was the situation?

I rubbed the back of my neck mindfully, closing the door behind both me and John as we walked down the hallway. He unlike me seemed more calm, collected as he smiled, the joyful aura radiating from the other side of the hallway.

Sometimes I wonder if it's an act...

But I didn't doubt my best friend, after all, it was miracle he was able to stay optimistic in the state he was in. Powerless, cripple, I couldn't even imagine what it'd be like.

However, unlike him, I couldn't get the thought out of my head that maybe something indeed had happened to them, hurt them. I pulled out my phone already writing a written message to Elaine. It was short and simple, but got to the point, I sent her the location as well, hoping she'd arrive in some given point if she'd seen it, and that she'd be extra backup.

One less thing to worry about...

Walking out of the school was quick, both me and John making quick chatter as we walked past the front gates. I had to occasionally glance at my phone, making sure we were going the right way. Elaine hasn't seemed to reply either, but I didn't dwell on it. I'd never been to the forest they seemed to be in, and curiosity etched me as I walked further. Was it just Blyke? Or was Remi and Isen there too?

I couldn't imagine the trio apart, and in an emergency like this, or whatever it was, their first phone call certainly wouldn't be me.

So the three are probably there...
