Ahhh- I'm sorry I'm sorry ;-; I forgot to update on Monday (those are the days I typically update for this book). I know I could give an essay of excuses, but I still should've update 😅

Anyways, try to enjoy the chapter, it gets interesting, sort of. I was writing this pretty late so apologies if there are grammar mistakes, or if things just go too fast.

Anyways enjoy!

||~Chapter 5~||

|~John~|

I stared at the redheads shaking form, a twinge of pity nudging itself in my heart as I stared. He looked so small, fragile compared to his statured form earlier. It was almost pathetic if I too hadn't reacted similarly. It was the situations fault, what it turned us into. The redhead wanted to be a hero, to help his friends and be strong, but despite his desire and effort, the situation just as easily crippled it.

(Crippled-? Get it? Cause he's technically a cripple? Lol- I'll see myself out-)

Sera's eyes met mine, and the way she awkwardly hung the giant school jacket over her form was basically begging for me to help her out. I had overhead everything, and it still seemed surreal that all the evidence was placed like this.

So I approached the magenta haired girl, making sure my eyes didn't glance at the body. I wasn't completely sure that I wouldn't be able to throw up if I stared at it for too long, and that's the last thing we needed.

"Isen," Sera spoke once I approached. "Mind taking Blyke for a little walk? I feel like he needs some air before he comes back." She spoke with a voice of authority, one I hadn't heard in quite a while. It reminded me of the first time we met, the arguments, the project, and the satisfaction when I had been able to get her to the boba cafe. But along with the authority came the stern stubborn look on her face, as if she was stressed about something.

Don't put on that facade again...

But knowing it was necessary, I sat back, watching Isen lead Blyke down the trail. I could hear his ragged breath and smell the the torn and battered bark from the birch trees as they vanished along the path.

By the time I directed my gaze back to the others, Sera was already standing in front of the blonde haired boy, instructing him about the car and such.

"I want you to grab these things first," She started. "As mentioned earlier, gasoline, matches, a shovel, and some plastic bags. Oh... and now that I think of it, probably gloves too. I don't want you to be suspicious around any people either, do you have any of this stuff at home? And also... car... uhm, I don't suppose you have any way to get ahold of a car do you... it's alright, forget about that." She put a hand to her neck as if to think about it, turning around to gaze at the body.

"I can help carry it," I stared, just like Blyke had. "And as for a vehicle, my neighbour has one, he lets me drive it sometimes."

Blue shark like eyes cornered mine, as if to point out that I was lying. Of course Sera would know, but she didn't object either. It seems she knew she didn't have a choice, we needed a car, and we needed the materials.
