Hello old friend, It's been a long time.

I'd been remembering it how it used to be, and when time was on our side, we had nothing to hide.

I watched the colors in your eyes dissolve among this black and white world that we'd feared to breathe in. We were so afraid to part, now you've burned the bridge we stand and ask everyone why I don't visit.

We used to sleep with our dreams written in our lungs, and how now, you seemed to forget how to breathe.

Sunlight chasing the sunset; and I, watch a thousand moons radiate this cobweb of stars that we used to wish under. You don't seem to care to remember; even the planets, strangers to us, homing other galaxies; resonate our gravitational pull. Us against the world, and now the distance between us has aligned the planets together, with you on the other side.

Thirteen years, I thought that there was meaning behind these tears. Late sometime after nightfall, we'd snuck out and we'd recite our favorite stories. I thought that we were so in sync. I thought that we were harmonizing the same page, but we were holding two different books.

I didn't hear all this time, I'd only heard what I thought was the roaring fire between us, but it had only been the reflection of the fire within me, inside the glassy stare of your eyes.
