There are some words that just cannot be translated into a single English word or phrase, which I have personally decided to term "untranslatabibble". Here are some examples.
Tartle: A Scottish word for the act of hestitating while introducing someone
because you’ve forgotten their name.
Schadenfreude : This German word refers to the feeling of pleasure derived
by witnessing another’s misfortune.
Drachenfutter: Literally meaning “dragon fodder,” it refers to a type of gift
German husbands bestow on their wives when they’ve
stayed out late or they have otherwise engaged in some kind
of inappropriate behavior, probably to placate them.
Wabi-Sabi: A Japanese word that one might understand as “a way of living
that focuses on finding beauty within the imperfections of life and
accepting peacefully the natural cycle of growth and decay.”
