1) Koala bears are not bears; they are marsupials.

2) You’d be safer carrying a bloody elk leg than an open tube of toothpaste in front of a bear.

3) Sheep have rectangular pupils.

4) 2008, there were 3.5 chickens for every human on Earth.

5) A male European earwig has an extra penis in case its first- very long one- snaps off.

6) The Lake Duck, also called the Argentine Blue-bill, Argentine Lake Duck, or Argentine Ruddy Duck, is notable for posessing the longest penis of all vertebrates in relation to body size, reaching up to about half its total body length when erect. However, some penises have been known to reach about the same length of the animal itself when fully erect. It is theorized that the remarkable size of their spiny penises (!) with bristled tips (!!) may have evolved in response to competitive pressure in these highly promiscuous birds to remove sperm from previous matings. As a side note, the females have a long corkscrew vagina, which, bizarrely, spirals in the opposite direction as the male's penis.

7) Some ribbon worms will eat themselves if they can't find any food.

8) Owls are the only birds who can see the color blue.

9) A catfish’s body is smothered in thousands of tastebuds all over its entire body. It’s like a huge swimming tongue.

10) Centipedes have been extensively studied for over a hundred years, but not one has ever been found that has 100 legs. Some have more, some less. The one with the number of legs closest to 100 was discovered in 1999. It has 96 legs, and is unique among centipedes in that it is the only known species with an even number of pairs of legs. 48 pairs. All other centipedes have odd numbered pairs of legs, ranging from 15 to 191 pairs.

11) 8% of all lion sex is gay.

12) While many animal species have been shown to exhibit homosexual tendencies, only one species has been shown to exhibit homophobic behaviour... humans. Isn't that sad, guys?

A/N: Okay guys, I don't really know why this has been rated R, but I'll go along with it (I suppose it was the Lake Duck thing) if it saves the innocent eyes of little children. HOWEVER, let me refer you to Nigahiga's video "Censorship Makes No Sense".
