CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

Bella woke up and saw that Edward was not beside her. A prickle of tear tinged her eyes as she let it flow. She used to wake up with Edward’s arm around her. She tried to wipe away her tears and rolled out of the bed. She entered the bathroom to wash her face and brushed her teeth. She then don on her silk robe and went out of the room. She checked if Edward was somewhere in the living room when she saw a note that was pasted at the door of the refrigerator.

Bella,

I am needed at the office, early.

Edward

Bella tossed the note at the garbage canister near the refrigerator and sighed. She misses the old and caring, Edward. The Edward who lifted her out of the pain, the Edward who tenderly loves her. She misses him so but she knows that she pained him. They love each other so much that is why they in so much pain right now.

“I will stick with you, Edward… Until you forgive me….Until forever…” She whispered to herself as she opened the door of the refrigerator to get herself a bottle of distilled water. She was contemplating on cooking a breakfast for herself when the suite’s doorbell rang. She put down the bottle of water in her hand at the kitchen’s counter and walked towards the front door to check  who was it.

“Hi Bella, how are you. Nice to see you again.” The person on the doorstep greeted her with a hug.

“Megan? Hi!” She tentatively greeted her. What are you doing here?” She asked her as she led her inside the suite.

“I am checked- in here as well that I thought dropping by. I have an early meeting with the one and the only Mr. Chairman that I thought to ride with you guys to the office as I don’t have a license  to drive yet.” Megan explained to her. “Where’s, Edward by the way?” She cheerily added as she looked around the suite to look for Edward.

“I did not know that you were asked to fly in here. Does your accounts have a project for A&A New York?” She curiously asked Megan as she intentionally ignored Megan’s query on the whereabouts of Edward. Megan looked at her with questioning eyes and smiled at her.

“Edward requested me to help him deal with some contract revisions in regards with the New York Models partnership. I am also a corporate lawyer, Bella and sometimes Edward asked my help on some sensitive contracts and thus I am here. I just flew in yesterday and as Mr. Chairman is a slave driver of a boss he asked for an early meeting with him even though my jet lag is still killing me.” Megan joked and laughed at the same time.

Bella gave her a tad smile and looked at Megan as she tried hard to suppress her surprise with Megan’s presence in New York.

“Ah, I see.” Were the only words that came from her mouth as she offered Megan a cup of coffee. Megan took it and sat herself at one of the stools in the kitchen’s bar.

“Edward went out early, he left me a note that he is needed at the office, early.” Bella finally told Megan as she heated a couple of slices of wheat bread in the toaster.

Megan nodded her head and walked beside her. She then lifted Bella’s head with her forefinger to make Bella face her.

“Sorry to intrude, Bella but I can’t help but ask you.” Megan softly told her as she looked at her directly in her eyes.

Bella slightly moved away from her and continued to stare at the bread toasting in the oven toaster. “Ask me what, Megan?” She softly countered at Edward’s best gal friend.

Megan quietly sighed and looked at her shyly. “Are you and Edward having problems?” She shyly asked her. “I can’t help but notice your eyes, Bella and my hunches intensified upon learning that Edward is already in the office.” Megan added as she looked intently at her, waiting for her answer.
