Inseparable

Part 2

I sat at a table in the cafeteria, waiting for Reggie.
"Hayley! Sorry I got caught up with a few things. So, listen."
Reggie had come and taken a seat next to mine.
I nodded to show him that I was listening.
"My Dad is hosting a party this Saturday. All the richest men over the country will be there. And, I wanted you to come too. Anyway Dad is really fond of you. Will you come? As my date.."
"Of course! Is that even a question? I would definitely be there!"
He pulled me into a hug.
"It means a lot to me." he said.
I smiled, and kissed him.
"Well, I'll be expecting to see you in your best pearls." he said into my mouth.

I walked into my house and flung my coat onto the coat stand. As I walked in, I noticed a well dressed man with shiny black hair sitting in the hall on one of the sofas.
Just then my mom walked in. The man got up. Then Mom realized that I was there too.
"Hayley dear, we will be going to my room now. I will be expecting no disturbance." she said, holding the man's arm and giving me a wicked smile.
Ugh, not again! I should be used to this now, but I'm not. She's got a new man every single day.
Only if Dad was here.

I rolled my eyes and walked into my room.

My eyes opened because of the sunlight that entered my room through the huge windows. After freshening up and taking a bath, I ran down the steps. I wasn't gonna let Mom get away this time, again.
She was just leaving the house when I yelled "Stop! Mom, we need to talk."
She turned around and said, "Oh, now what?"
"Why do you keep doing this to Dad? Why can't you-"
"Listen young lady, your father is dead! He. Is. Dead. Do you hear me? And I have all the rights to do whatever I want. After all, I need my pleasures and enjoyments too." saying this, she slammed the main door shut.

Yeah, I know, my life at home sucks. Which is why I would do anything, absolutely ANYTHING to get out of my house.

I drove to highschool. And here I am, arguing with Tamara. Don't ask me what happened, I don't know that myself.
"YOU CAN'T MISS IT!!!!" she yelled.
Oh, now I remember. Tamara invited me to a party, which is the exact same time as Reggie's Dad's party.
"The world's hottest guys will be there!!"
"First of all, Reggie already called me. And don't you forget, Reggie is my BOYFRIEND." I said.
"Oh come on! You've had enough fun with Reggie. It's my turn now. Go find someone else."
"Goddammit Tamara! So now I know what this is about. You want me to hook up with someone else so you get Reggie. Am I right?"
How could she even do this! Wait, I forgot. She's Tamara. She can do anything to get what she wants.
Tamara rolled her eyes and turned around.
"Fine, don't come. You'll be missing out on fun."
